Let's discuss loggers and ranchers as targeted for extinction. My husband is
now retired, but he was a draftsman. He drew it on the board. Golly, just
not a lot of that around anymore. I was a secretary. I can type about ll0
words a minute (and with darned few errors). Somehow there's not much call
for that sort of thing. A good thing I retired too. I don't think anyone
really needs shorthand anymore. My husband's grandfather was a barn builder.
He was a good one. Amazingly, his son didn't follow in his footsteps,
because nobody much is building big wooden barns any more. My own
grandfather was a wheelright. Not much call for those guys either. Nobody's
trade is guaranteed to go on forever. Ranchers and loggers need to get with
the program just like everybody else.
Those ranchers who claim to have been managing the eco-system have just about
finished it off. They killed off the buffalo (God forbid that free meat be
available), starved and shot the Indians, shot the wolves that without the
buffalo turned to the cattle, shot the eagles, and occasionally shot each
other in disputes over the land they wanted. They've about wiped out the
entire food chain from Indiana onward, and now they want a gold star and a
lot of really cheap grazing on public lands. Sorry. Prudy
