I suppose it's fitting that the main instigators of this little exercise in
Vive Revolution! should invoke Communist resistance of the Nazis as their
role model for their view of themselves is perhaps similar to that of the
Communists: beyond reproach as they are on the side of humanity. But there
was plenty of blood on both sides' hands in that war. The irony is that if
the masses mobilised behind this anti-WTO exercise had their way well we'd
all be in statist poverty. Wouldn't that be grand?
I read that Fidel Castro will be in Seattle as well. He has blood on his
hands, an authoritarian government and a lot of poverty to his name, but I
suppose that's all excusable because he has the best of intentions...and it
can't possibly be his fault. Must be those nasty US capitalists. The same
ones which brought us the internet...
I used to be fellow traveller, but I've become terribly cynical over the
years. The blinkered vision of so many leftist/"progressives" which I one
blinked in time now seems positively reprehensible and bigoted...
