I am increasingly convinced that the early vaccination of children is
responsible for the current worldwide increase in childhood asthma, simply
because the testing and seasoning of the immune system, which children of my
generation (post-WW2) and before received through exposure to a whole range
of diseases, is no longer present. This is why, IMO, we are seeing a massive
increase in autoimmune disorders, of which asthma is one manifestation.
(Asthma is generally not itself a full-blown disease but rather a symptom of
something else.) Because the "baby boom" generation was the first to begin
receiving large numbers of vaccinations, we're seeing an increase in
autoimmune disorders now among people 45 and up. (In the interests of full
disclosure, I'm 52, and suffer from sarcoidosis, which is one of the
least-understood autoimmune disorders.) That's significant enough, but we're
*also* seeing the beginnings of an even bigger wave of autoimmune cases
among young adults. The asthma increase has to be considered as part of the
larger autoimmune picture.
