I don't think other countries do unless an individual is born there. Then
they may choose when they become adults. I could be wrong, because the laws
they are a changin. Still, love is not an issue here, but loyalty is. If
one claims citizenship in any country, that individual should do nothing that
might be harmful to that country. So loyalty to Israel and the United States
would demand no action be taken that might be harmful to either country.
You're right in that Israel is a sovereign nation and may do what she wishes.
It is up to the United States to see that Israel is not tempted. After the
horror of ignoring the Jews just before and during World War II, too many
people are trying to make it up by trying to believe that Israel is so much
our friend that we may trust her in every way. That is not the case. Prudy
