Hulda Clark Campaign In High Gear... Opinion by Tim
Bolen

Sunday, November 7, 1999

UPDATE - Hulda Clark gets two major awards.

Last week was an important week in the Clark campaign.
Dr. Hulda Clark, PHD, received two major awards, one
from an International Scientific organization, the
other from a national self-styled consumer advocate
group. Both groups apparently placed her as a world
renowned humanitarian, a forward thinking scientist,
and a hero in the health world.

THE FIRST AWARD, given at the tenth annual forum of
the International Association of New Science at Fort
Collins, Colorado was a serious peer affirmation of
her work. Sponsored at the forum, by a former Apollo
Astronaut and a co-founder of the Peace Corps, Dr.
Clark delivered a speech and conducted a workshop to a
standing-room-only crowd. She was given the "New
Scientist of the Year Award."

THE SECOND AWARD came in a strange package and
requires some insider understanding, and
interpretation of it's real meaning. Steven Barrett,
MD., a non-practicing psychiatrist(?), working out of
his basement in Allentown, Pennsylvania, supposedly
writing on behalf of his so-called "National Council
Against Health Fraud (NCAHF)" wrote an article for his
web site (www. quackwatch.com) called "The Bizarre
Claims of Hulda Clark."

Clark insiders were thrilled at Barrett's recognition
of their hero.

Little is known about the NCAHF. Nick-naming itself
"The Quackbusters," it's membership is secret, and
it's funding is (?). But, leaders in the "Alternative
Medicine" movement have long recognized that to be
listed as a "quack" on the Barrett, Jarvis, Herbert,
Renner "hit list" is tantamount to having "arrived" in
the health world. Clark is now recognized in the
company of Linus Pauling and the great health
humanitarians of our time. Apparently, only those
health leaders whose works seriously frighten
Barrett's sponsors(?) make the "list" in the first
place. To be personally written up by Barrett himself
gives Clark serious stature in the health community,
and is by itself, an affirmation of the truth and
validity of her work. To be criticized by Barrett
personally, is an honor that few will ever attain...

Clark joins the ranks of 2,500 other top health
professionals in North America, including 1,137 MDs,
167 PhDs, 236 DOs, 79 DDSs, 228 DCs, and 441 other
(BS, RN, ND, HMD, CSW, MSN).

Famous Julian Whitaker, MD of the Whitaker Wellness
Institute, and himself on the "hit list," says "There
are 52 double doctorates on the list, with two or more
of the following degrees, MD, PhD, DO, DDS, DVM, DMD.
Many have university affiliation, have published in
the peer-review literature, and are respected authors
of books or even textbooks. Please note that this
'quack' list includes Linus Pauling, PhD. Linus
Pauling is the only individual to have won two
unshared Nobel Prizes, and virtually every other award
for scientific achievement, both national and
international. In the 1970s the editors of the British
New Scientist listed Dr. Pauling as one of the top 20
scientists of all time. Albert Einstein was the only
other scientist in the 20th century listed along with
Aristotle, Gallileo, Isaac Newton, and Michael
Faraday."

NCAHF see (www.internetwks.com/pauling/quack.html)

Barrett has been conducting an unsuccessful anti-Clark
campaign in Indiana, apparently trying to offset the
prodigious Clark support network. Mary Wayt, Editor
of the Brown County Democrat in Nashville, Indiana
wrote about Barrett's fiasco in an editorial showing 3
letters against Clark, and 203 for Clark.
(www.browncountyindiana.com). Barrett was quoted in
the Bloomington Hoosier Times, spouting some of his
usual (yawn) drivel. One of Barrett's parrotts(?)
showed up at a Clark "Open House" in Columbus, Indiana
- and whined when he was turned away.

IN OTHER NEWS: Two different state "health freedom"
teams are heading for Indiana to advise local Indiana
supporters in the intricacies of passing "health
freedom" bills in their own state. Members of both
the Colorado (already passed), and the Minnesota (in
progress) teams are in constant contact with concerned
Indianans. Indiana organizational teams are now
forming.

MORE NEWS: Louisville, Kentucky supporters are
organizing an event for 200 - 500 people over the
December 10, 11, 12, 1999 weekend. National speakers
including Hulda Clark. More information to follow.

EVEN MORE NEWS: PBS's "Tony Brown Show," about Dr.
Clark's work, HUGE success. Phones ringing off hook
Thank you Tony - you're a great American. Second
segment airing now around country. Mike McElrae did a
terrific interview...

EVEN MORE THAN THAT NEWS: Prosecutor James Oliver of
Brown County, Indiana has "recused" himself
(withdrawn) from the case. Prosecutor Oliver is a
one-man shop in Brown County. A prosecutor from one
of the surrounding counties is expected to pick up
this "hot potato" case. So far, they all seem to be
busy that day... The public in Indiana is apparently
viewing the situation differently than Oliver
originally expected. The word on the street is
"Brown County gets to try the woman who found the cure
for cancer with practicing medicine without a
license.'" Clark supporters are looking for a
connection between Barrett and Oliver. Got one? -
E-mail me...

AGAIN MORE: A national organization, the Fully
Informed Jury Association (FIJA) has jumped into the
Clark camp. Interested in seeing that the Indiana
jury in the Clark case, be fully informed that they
have the power to judge the law (practicing medicine
without a license) as well as guilt or innocence, FIJA
begins its Indiana campaign soon. See their website
www.fija.org. Welcome FIJA. Members - and thank you
for coming...

Yes, the campaign is in high gear... "Showdown in
Brown County" February 2, 2000...
