-Caveat Lector- Hello Quentin, Unfortunately, government is cast in an impossible role. First, it must act under the orders of the financial Lords- who for some unGodly reason seem to absolutely require humans to live in some form of degradation or slavery. When I was a child, it was still common for children to have a Mother to come home to. NOW- that is pretty much a faded memory of "good 'ole days" ... as every family has parents (or a SINGLE parent- marriage itself an "economic" casualty) who are both working, sometimes working two jobs or long overtime, or "salaried" jobs that pay for a week's work and require 60 or 70 hours. Second, it must try to keep people fooled about this first fact, by trying to keep them focussed on "the children" , "the terrorists" , "the drug-dealers", "the pedophiles" , etc.... which is incredibly and blatantly cynical, as a study of CIA covert ops would quickly reveal. If there are any honest politicians with true human desires to benefit their fellows (allow me to doubt this somewhat, while still maintaining enough hope to take the trouble of answering you)... he or she would spare NO EFFORT to bring "family values" .... HOME .... by creating a financial climate in which the average (no, even the below-average, even the "disadvantaged") family would be given the opportunity to LIVE as a family- for tiny infants to have the opportunity of sharing with their mothers the mutual love that is the most valuable thing in this life. People who are only concerned with "bottom line" and political donations are unlikely to care. More likely to fund phoney books by phoney authors downplaying the importance of a person's childhood on his development as a human being, and point to this sort of obvious nonsense as "expert" opinion. How convenient, eh? Fully supports the socialism-cum-fascist welfare state that is currently being engineered by the political machinery in this painfully too-obvious grab for control of peoples children. Have you noticed that the schools are being used to attempt to push drugs (state sponsored prescription drugs) on children who are "discipline problems?" I am so disgusted by the two faced governments of today. No way to convey it strongly enough. Imagine your worst feelings of betrayal juxtaposed against a fuzzy headed warm patriotism it might have been possible to feel before the state-sponsored propaganda/education wore off ... funny thing is... the altruistic stuff about "separation of powers" , "bill of rights" , first-second-third-fourth amendments, etc.... makes a pretty good "cover story" of a "free country" .. but the reality of utterly corrupt courts has made a complete mockery of any concept of "JUSTICE" - the judiciary is bought with the same money that the congress is, the same money that the executive is- therefore, separation of powers is impossible... any independence from financial control is a concept superfluous to the Elite super-rich whose money purchases the seeming of "freedom" and is wielded under cover of that illusion as an immense all pervading weapon of social domination and control. Is the Governor interested in building any nice new prisons lately? Great place to cage up persons-made-slaves via undermining of "family values" in the first place, followed by purposeful crushing economic pressure, neighborhoods flooded with CIA imported hard drugs, heavy criminalization of minor drugs (while the CIA drug runners siphon an estimated $2billion per year from those set upon by the drug pushing) ... now the prisons themselves are being "privatized" (doublespeak) under the control of firms dominated by CIA and Military assets and agents. An entire economy the approximate aggregate size of the Pentagon's is the result, the prison/industrial complex- captive workforce for hire. The "land of the FREE" imprisons a greater percentage of it's population than any other country in the world. Very civilized, eh? The Spirit of the American people is not yet fully crushed- befuddled and hypnotized to some extent, it's true- but I believe that if the fascists in government push too fast with their NWO agendas (which of course include state creches for infant raising) that we may live to see civil war leading to a revolutionary coup-government.
