He said they were as surprised and disappointed as everyone that CSPAN did not cover the event. He explained that on Friday, November 12th, the day before the summit, Bob Schultz, President of "We The People," and promoter of the event received a phone call from a Department of Justice representative, Mr. Joel Gray, inquiring about the nature of the summit and the material to be covered. Although Mr. Schulz thought the call unusual, he placed no additional importance on it at the time. IRS representatives and other government officials were formally invited to attend. None did. Larry said that as expected Bill Benson revealed the name of the person who approached him about not making public his material on the non-ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment, and that the person was Orin Hatch. Larry said that C-SPAN told the summit promoter the tax summit held back in July, which they did cover, was THEIR MOST POPULAR PRODUCTION in terms of requests for taped copies of the program. According to Larry, the C-SPAN schedule was open for this date, Saturday, November 13th between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm when this event was scheduled. Instead of covering this live event -- which was to be an improvement over the prior one, -- C-SPAN made a decision to run a previously taped "canned" program. No official response has been received from C-SPAN as to why this event was not covered in light of the exceptional reception the first one received. ******************************************************** The information below is summarized from varoius incoming emails on Saturady, November 13th,1999. The same organization which is putting on the summit today, We The People, also put on a similar tax summit in early July of 1999 at the same Washington location. The first summit was covered from beginning to end by C-SPAN-2. In fact, it was aired live and it also aired at least 4 or 5 additional times during the following week. The summit on Saturday, 13th, 1999 was larger and better organized. C-SPAN normally covers events of national interest held at the National Press Club headquarters. At the first summit, in July 1999, former IRS special agent Joseph Banister announced that he personally had asked his (at-the-time) employer (the IRS) to show him the statutes which make an American liable for the income tax. He never got a response. He was subsequently let go from the agency. During his presentation, Mr. Benson commented that several years ago, shortly after he completed his research into the non-ratification of the 16th Amendment, he was offered a very large sum of money by a then presidential candidate to not make the information public for fear it would destroy the entire tax system. Mr. Benson did not, however, name the former presidential candidate. It was expected that today the name would be released. This may or may not have anything at all to do with the program not airing, or not being covered if it is not. This is what is referenced in the message sent out previously about the Citizen's Summit scheduled for Saturday, November 13th, 1999. I stopped the "voluntary" filing of my annual income tax forms in 1991. Since that time I have made numerous request to have my employer stop withholding income tax from my monthly paycheque - to no avail. So, even though I have not filed an income tax form since 1991 Revenue Canada Taxation in cahoots with my employer is still stealing what rightfully belongs to me. I also filed the Constructive Notice and the Taxpayer's Declaration of Rights (These forms I found at Eldon Warman's website) to declare myself a non taxpayer. When Revenue Canada Taxation sent me any mail I simply refused to accept it and returned it. On Wednesday, November 10th, 1999 I received in the mail "Notice of Assessment" for the years 1994, 1995 and 1996. This simply means that Revenue Canada Taxation Officials completed income tax forms on my behalf using information from my employer. I was unaware that Revenue Canada Taxation would do this work for a taxpayer free of charge. (LOL) Why do taxpayers pay accountants when Revenue Canada taxation will do it for you???? In any case, I do not know why they decided to select the years 1994, 1995 and 1996 BUT here what they have come up with. By their "unlawful" calculation I owed Tax of $86.28 in 1994 with additional penalties of $14.67 and arrears interest of $52.16 for a total of $153.11. This was carried over to 1995 wherein I owed $92.22 with additional penalties of $46.11 and arrears interest of $49.10 for a total of $187.43 BUT the 1994 previous account balance is added for a new total of $340.54. This was carried over to 1996 wherein I owed $532.03 with additional penalties of $266.02 and arrears interest of $192.87 for a total of $990.92 BUT with the two prevous account balances carried over Revenue Canada Taxation fraudulently claims that I owe them $1331.46. I am not the least bit stressed about this fraudulent "Notice of Assessment". BUT I am surprised that they can just go ahead and assess a citizen who has filed the "Constructive Notice and the Taxpayer's Declaration of Rights."
