We always used CF, "Charlie Foxtrot", as an abbrieviation for Cluster F*ck, a
ridiculously screwed up situation.
The more current slang for cannon fodder would be "Speed Bump". You're a speed
bump when you slightly slow the enemy's advance, usually armored vehicles, with
your body.
