-Caveat Lector-
Rodrigo,
A lot of lists, and persons, do not accept attachments. The lists I
moderate do not accept attachments. Attachments take up a lot of space
in the email. For example, my Yahoo mailbox only holds 3 MB. I once got
an attachment that was over 2 MB & I lost mail from other senders
because I was offline for several hours after this attachment arrive.
Also, email viruses are most likely transmitted through attachments.
Opening attachments from unknown sources, and without first scanning
them (my browsers are set up to do this automatically) is the
cyber-equivalent of "unsafe sex." That few extra seconds it takes to
scan something could save you hours of rebuilding your system.
