According to Sheehy, the standoff did not end until one day in March, 1999 when Hillary called the president telling him to begin bombing Kosovo! Sheehy tells DATELINE'S Stone Phillips: "The day after she said that, he [Bill Clinton] announced that he was informing his NATO allies that he was recommending a bombing campaign." MORE... Sheehy also concludes in her book, "Hillary's Choice", that Hillary Rodham "probably" used marijuana during her college days. >From an interview with Hillary Clinton's college love, David Rupert: "Some of us were inhaling." Pressed further, Rupert stated: "I don't have to go there, but you can read between the lines." Sheehy tells Phillips: "They partook of what everybody else in their age group did in 1968 and `69. They went to parties where people were smoking and they probably smoked." A spokesman for Hillary Clinton stands by all previous statements in which the First Lady denies illegal drug use. Will Hillary have to answer drug questions in her run for the Senate? "Probably, just like almost every other candidate has had to answer," Sheehy says. MORE... Sheehy also tells Phillips that Hillary almost left Bill in 1990 due to the revelation of a woman now known through the Paula Jones civil suit as "Jane Doe #1". "The affair, which has never been described before, almost drove a stake through that marriage. He [Clinton] became obsessed with her. He would call her sometimes 18 times a day. He made hundreds of phone calls to her over a period of a year and a half." Both Jane Doe #1 and the president deny that an affair occurred, maintaining that theirs was a friendship. Sheehy tells Stone that this friendship left Hillary "shattered", and caused her to give Bill an ultimatum: Says Sheehy: "She could give him forgiveness for his previous transgressions, give him cover so that he could run for President in `92, but she would not condone an ongoing affair.
