old girl who stopped to play with a puppy was attacked & killed by a pack
of dogs in a remote settlement north of Edmonton. Cecilia Alook died after
the dog pack mauled her about 200 yards from her home. Residents of the
community of 300 people about 500 miles north of Edmonton later killed
the dogs, which probably were starving. Vengeance is ours, say the folk.

shopping trip across the border in Mexico. A little boy runs away from
his mother and she can't find him. She is told to wait across the border.
45 minutes later, she sees a man carrying her child. He drops the child
and runs, and the child is discovered to be dead - his internal organs
removed to make him a vehicle for smuggling cocaine across the border.
