All citizens, union and non union:
The Seatte Police Department, The riot police, and the National Guard have
demonstrated to us in Seattle that Martial Law tactics rule.
In the last 3 days, they have:
*Tortured at least one union worker while incarcerated for several hours
*Have for two nights in a row started riots in the Capital Hill district
of Seattle, a residential neighborhood
*Have repeatedly beaten, gassed, and shot with rubber and wooden
projectiles protesters as well as bystanders
*Have lied to the press and to us about the nature of their crackdown and
the police state in seattle
*Have tear gassed and beated union members of many unions, including
officials(!).
*They still have not released the 600+ WTO political prisoners our of the
King County Jail.
The Ad-Hoc General Srike Committee, comprised largely of IWW members,
organized a demonstration of citizens tonight, against the police
terrorism in the neighborhood, and we are agitationg for a General Strike
to HALT the police terroism and release the prisoners.
Please call these numbers, and say that you support the general strike.
We have spoken with many rank and filers on the steets and they are with
us on this. CALL:
Teamsters local 174 at 206-441-6060, ask for Bob Hasagawa, tell him you
support the General Strike
Call the King County Labor Council at 206-441-7102 or 441-8510, ask for
Ron Judd, tell him you support the General Strike.
Police Brutality is the WTO being forced upon us. They want to impose fre
trade by taking away our free speech and our streets.
Call now, especially if you are in a union. This is a call for all workers
worldwide to realease the prisoners!
