On re-reading what I've written, I offer my apologies to "HawkEye."
Although, as stated, I give him no credibility --in return, I invite him to
give ME no credibility, as is his right-- I did not mean to suggest that he,
personally, was WITTINGLY a disformation agent -- only that some of his
SOURCES certainly appear to be, IMHO. I've asked Vallee (with whom I'm in
touch) to respond to certain smears on him in the past but he's demurred,
saying only that it's a waste of time. I understand that completely. It
just isn't worth the time for scientific minds to argue at great length
against the existence of the unreal, or to defend the facts against those
whose judgment is faulty, or purposefullly skewed.
If I were to go back to the primary sources that get endlessly rehashed by
the various promoters of the Philadelphia Experiment and Montauk thing, in
order to refute them, I'd have to spend months on the task -- and I'd end up
summarizing all that research in a book no one would read anyway, because
nothing is more unpopular than the truth, and publishers, with their eye on
sensationalism, will publish Von Daniken and Sitchin but not exposes of Von
Daniken and Sitchin. There's a tabloid-reading sucker born every minute, but
there's no profit to be made in writing books telling them they're suckers.
"NewsHawk" is welcome to post whatever he believes, whether *I* pooh-pooh it
or not.
Das GOAT (without the benefit of "Inc") will give his usual opinions, a bit
sharp-tongued if in a bad mood (and nonsense such as Sitchin's and Bielek's
put me in a bad mood) -- but what REALLY ticks me off is a flame war and
side-taking developing from a major difference in opinion and/or belief,
stated bluntly as, alas, I've done here. To head off any such waste of
everyone's time, I herewith apologize to NewsHawk personally for how I
categorize his sources and the credibility thereof. Let readers judge as
they may. Mine is just one point of view. "NewsHawk" has just as much right
to his OWN point of view. Having stated my opinion, I do not intend to
engage in any lengthy arguments.
If "NewsHawk" replies that MY credibility in HIS eyes is likewise diminished
by whatever beliefs *I* promote, he's entitled to that opinion. Let our
SOURCES of INFORMATION
be the topic of discussion, if merited, rather than the personalities holding
the opposing
positions based on them. MY error, mea culpa, for incivility, too much "ad
hominem,"
in response to Vallee being labelled a "CIA agent." Vallee has ENEMIES in
the CIA.
If anyone called ME a "CIA agent," I'd safely assume they were out to SILENCE
me, using one of the classic strategies of disinformation agents working for
-- guess who?
Cui bono: Who profits by disputing Vallee's conclusion in "Messengers of
Deception"?
