-Caveat Lector- World Forum / UN / 2000 There has been an annual Fall event since 10/95 forum convened by "Global Gorby." List of supporters at the end of this post. This group of elites seems to coalesce around support for a UN implementation of NWO- strong common agendas other than $ are hijacking of environmentalism (the same environment the elites are intent on plundering, lo these many years) as an excuse for raids on private property rights and national soveriegnty. (oh, yeah ... not to mention the "it takes a village" to break up a family factions... "for the children" .... every time I hear of a governmental agency or other bureacracy parroting "for the children" I think of the charcoaled little corpses of the Branch Davidian Christian "cultists" .. FBI & U.S. military sure did permanently save those kids from alleged(phony report?) "child abuse." No one should let it slip from their awareness that the U.S. government has shown the willingess to murder women and children in Laos, Vietnam, Kosovo... in addition to our fellow citizens Vicki Weaver & the Branch Davidians. How much WORSE would the power-corrupted elites be free to act if they were allowed to consolidate all governmental and military power under one rule? ------------ end of rant ------------ A number of World Forum "special events" next year. Mebbe a good opportunity for the WTO Coalition to swing into action. (although it is Very cold in Chicago in January & Cops reported to be somewhat less than ethical.) It will be nice weather in New York for the week of September 3 - 9, 2000 for the "worldwide" event in conjunction with United Nations Millennium Assembly. (mark your calendars...) At the initiative of the Assistant Secretary General and Millennium Assembly Coordinator, Miles Stoby, the State of the World Forum has agreed to serve as the convener of the North American regional hearings that will take place January 25 -26, 2000 in Chicago. At the request of the Secretary General, the State of the World Forum has agreed to serve as the convener of the North American regional hearings. http://www.worldforum.org/sections/upcoming/upcoming.html UN 2000, September 3 - 9, 2000 The State of the World Forum, working in cooperation with the office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, in association with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in cooperation with the Conference of Non Governmental Organizations (CONGO) and the United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI), and in partnership with other networks, constituents and corporations worldwide, will convene its annual gathering of leaders of civic society September 3-9, 2000 in New York. This event will take place concurrently with the special United Nations Millennium Assembly of heads of state convened at the special invitation of the Secretary General, to discuss the future of the United Nations and the priorities to which it should address itself. http://www.worldforum.org/sections/history/history.html The first State of the World Forum was held in San Francisco in October 1995. Convened by Mikhail Gorbachev and his fellow Co-Chairs, more than 600 innovative leaders from 50 countries came together. Since then, over 4,000 people from nearly 100 countries have gathered for annual and regional forums in San Francisco (where the Forum holds its annual conference), Moscow, Washington, DC, New Delhi, Islamabad, Guanajuato (Mexico), Brussels, Belfast, Vienna, and Monterrey (Mexico). Joyce Banda, Africa Prize Winner and Muhammad Yunus, Managing Director of the Grameen Bank and Forum Co-Chair In and through all the conferences it has convened, the Forum has challenged its participants to transform dialogue into action. The Strategic Initiatives are a direct result of the in-depth and interdisciplinary dialogue taking place at Forum gatherings. The Forum is responsible for directing and managing these Initiatives with many strategic partners worldwide. The annual conferences seek to quite literally explore the state of the world in all its multi- dimentionality. Every subject is honored; every point of view is given space. The ethos of these gatherings is that questions are more important than answers, dialogue more helpful than dogma. It is in a spirit of mutual respect and inquiry that discussions are held, accentuating the ethical and spiritual aspects of the issues as they arise. The fourth annual State of the World Forum took place on October 27 - November 1, 1998 in San Francisco. Over 700 leaders from over 100 nations and tribes gathered to discuss issues ranging from preventing deadly conflict and abolishing nuclear weapons; sustained peak performance; the current instability in the global financial markets; meeting the irreducible needs of children; creating a world safe for differences; investing in women; to the greening of capital. The Forum has developed strategic partnerships with BBC Worldwide Television to enable these discussions to be broadcast on a global scale through national and worldwide media. The 1999 State of the World Forum was held at the Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco, California, on October 1 - 6, 1999. The Forum gathered over 800 luminaries, leaders and futurists from around the world to develop and examine systemic solutions that impact business, politics and human development into the next millennium. The 1999 Forum was designed for creating partnerships and envisioning a sustainable and compassionate civilization. It featured more than 100 of the world's most highly regarded speakers and innovators, and included over 50 breakout sessions exploring key trends for the future, models of innovation and tools for leadership. http://www.worldforum.org/sections/resources/resources.html http://www.informamerica.com/10Planks.htm Partners and Supporters of the State of the World Forum Over the past three years the State of the World Forum has worked with the following partners and financial supporters in creating and implemnting its programs: 21st Century Learning Initiative The Abraham Fund Akwekon Studios, Ltd.
