Yeah. That's what I meant. It's a subset of idolatry. It's particularly
absurd to fetishize a book like the Bible or the Torah whose very content
proscribes the worship of inanimate objects. It's even more absurd to
reject in its entirety a book filled with truths just because it also
contains untruths. When you peel away the dogma and the ritual, you can
find truths and beauty in every religion. Where I part company with the
adherents of any single religion is where they say there way is (1.) the
only way, (2.) all of it is true and (3.) they have a right to inflict
their beliefs and practices on me. I'm not saying that's how you should
look at it. I'm saying that's how I look at it. I don't think it's good
for humanity that we all look at it the same way. Diversity is the most
time proven survival trait in all of biology. Let a hundred flowers bloom.
