I strongly doubt this story...necrotizing fasciitis is a form of strep, and
doesn't have to 'live' on banana skins (or any other fruit, for that matter)
to cause a threat...it is naturally found on the skin of every human being.
It usually doesn't cause a problem, as long as it doesn't get into an open
wound, and even then usually doesn't turn necrotic as long as suitable
measures are taken...washing the wound and keeping it clean with fresh
bandages (but making sure not to bandage so tightly as to cut off air to the
wound, as the germs thrive in anaerobic conditions)...
I suspect that a modicum of research into this story will reveal it for the
hoax that it is...
