-Caveat Lector- -Cui Bono?- Dave Hartley http://www.Asheville-Computer.com/dave -----Original Message----- From: Roger Bunn [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, February 10, 2000 3:08 PM To: Dave Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: The LOOP TODAY : Westminster Support Palace of Westminster Adds Support. Yesterday Mike Hancock MP tabled Burma Out! questions in the House Today (10th) .. Glasgow Evening Times, Glasgow's number one newspaper publishes an article that promotes the Burma Out campaign into the Big League north of the border in bonny Scotland. Yesterday MP Roger Howard, whose anti-abuse all party committee receives funding from the UK taxpayer, suggested that the phrase "war upon drugs" was the wrong term. A slogan that only "made war" upon the kids in school and the younger citizens on the streets of the nation. Roger Bunn, Director of Policy for Mihra, had reasons why not to comply with that particular philosophy. For, while any war upon those at the foot of the ladder may be less effective than desired, with its occasional "significant seizures" by customs and their like. And while a number of western governments may prefer to change philosophies and spins to suit their burgeoning failings. From Parliament Square., there is a light. And a genuine belief that there is a better way to make war. Sports Sanctions : Burma Out! It is only Mihra's Burma Out! education project that actively promotes direct confrontation, by the use of sports sanctions. Against those nations that bring both the world and sport into gross disrepute. And which may include two very special individuals indeed. US Czar General Barry McCaffrey and his good friend the already disgraced, Juan Antonio, Marques de Samaranch. President of the IOC, and long standing Generalisimo Francoite . These two "august" (as in godlike) individuals, accompanied by their puppets, the 200 representative members of the nations of which make up the IOC, if on a planet that could differentiate between its butt and a hole on the arm, could be brought to trial. For destroying any hope of a genuine war upon hard drugs. One individual who in truth wishes to wage war upon hard drug use is Glasgow MP Maria Fyfe. Who not only believes that the Glasgow Evening Times can help her cause to both educate and clean up parts of her constituency, but also in democracy and Burma Out! . And has written to Dr Mo Mowlam, in the Cabinet Office to that effect. In the eyes of the world. Burma Out sanctions can assist to rescue the "failings", of any war on drugs. ---------- Music Industry Human Rights Association http://www.mihra.org/2k / [EMAIL PROTECTED] Union Action http://www.mihra.org/2K/Union.htm ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^\| ||\____ | Opium EXPRESS | ||','''|'''''''\___, | __ | ||__|'__|___|| ['''(@)'(@)''''''''''''''''**|(@)(@) *****'(@)* >From Seattle to Sydney?: Of its kind : The most powerful communications group in existence Roger, We just had a protest a couple of weeks ago against the big BM [Barry McCaffrey) at American University. He was speaking on the new drug policy - he had folders and things like that, i got one if anyone's interested in the contents. Many students were protesting because of Colombia, but I was particularly there because of the Mexico things, and I wanted to learn more about why other students were there. Also, a group called Students for a Sensible Drug Policy were there and had a panel of speakers on the recent scandal that came out about the government paying money for anti-drug content in programming. The speakers were Andrew Jay Schwartzman, Jamin Raskin, John Dinges, Roger Pilon, Robert Corn-Revere and Patricia Aufderheide. It was an emergency panel, and I think it was a good turn out for a last minute thing. If anyone is interested in any of the materials I picked up at this protest (pro and anti) please contact me. He came because he is an alumnus, thought he was a hero, but left a fool. He said some really insulting things to the students who were demanding answers to the questions he was ignoring, and he said things like *Listen up, I'll walk you through it* -- insulting the intelligence of the people there, and also something like *I'm laying it out as slowly as I can* and things like that. He also said that if you leave an addict alone, they will cost you $46,000 but if you put them in prison they cost you $26000 a year, so therefore it is *sensible* to lock them up. He mentioned somewhere when he decided to talk to Colombia to shut people up that the *coca campesinos* were not making enough, and that the ELN was blowing up the oil industry. He said the whole drug war/problem was not racial at all. At first he was speaking in the middle of the front of the room because he thought he was loud enough, but then the protestors that stayed outside with *1,2,3,4 we don't want your racist war* and so forth came by the window I was sitting against (it was packed in there, more protestors than not, so me and a few people had to sit on the window sills) and so he got on the mic. During the monologue he was trying to give, a couple of us (I was one) wore gags over our mouths. Afterwards, there was yellow tape around the wrong part of the building and walkway, because it didn't block people from getting to his car. We stayed outside for a while, there was a guy wearing a puppet, too. There were drums and all that good stuff, and then McCaffrey came out, and the chants of *Hey Hey Ho Ho the Drug Czar has got to go Hey Hey Ho Ho the Drug War has got to go* got louder and stronger, and we chased his car away. Just wanted to share my experience because of the posts. Ona MOVE, One Love. In Solidarity, Mae --------- If a single brain cell memory serves me well. During the 70s, the headquarters of MOVE in Detroit, the city that suffered greatly during the export of heroin by the CIA coverters from V Nam, was bombed from a light aircraft belonging to white loony from a shell corp of the agency. RIP? People were killed, no one was ever brought to trial. ------------------- Finally, an old story. But a good one. Most useful when seeking funding in Twickenham. Famous Footage. "Before I get off the phone JPR, tell me. What was going through your mind that day on the infamous Lions tour of S Africa. When the whistle blew and you charged the length of the rugby field and chinned your opposite number?" There was a pause and then a very welsh voice said. "Well, (pause). It wasn't my greatest moment in rugby". (pause) . "But we were all out there to do it, and I had the furthest to run". We are pleased to welcome Wyn Griffiths MP to the Loop. Wyn is one of our patrons, Dr JPR Williams', MP. ------------------ Mihra needs contacts in the House. Please suggest to us those individuals who would be prepared to support our request for rapid assistance for a genuine war at the top Could someone have a word with Mrs Keen, our MP?
