The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy

by D. N. Kane

Jeffrey Toobin, a staff writer at The New Yorker and the legal
analyst at ABC News, has a new book out called A Vast Conspiracy
which reinforces the mainstream media's spin on impeachment: It
was all a right-wing witch-hunt led by the Grand Inquisitor,
e-e-e-vil Ken Starr.

James Carville, "Corporal Cueball," has declared another "wah"
against Hillary's opponent Rudy Giuliani, bragging that he will
do to him what they did to Newt, Ken Starr and Bibi Netanyahu,
which he called that "Right Wing Cabal."

And of course, immediately after the Monica thing first surfaced
and Bill wagged his finger at America in denial, Her Highness
Hillary went on national television and blamed the whole thing on
a "vast right wing conspiracy" that was out to get her husband.

If we weren't living in the Bizarro world, of course, she
would've been laughed off the stage in derision.

What was Monica? A sting operation set up by the Republican House
managers to entrap her faithful husband? And notice that the
mainstream media, Newsweek in particular, spiked the Monica story
to cover up for the Clintons. It was Matt Drudge on the Internet
who revealed the truth to America.

So in reality, there is a Vast Left-wing Conspiracy (VLC) firmly
in place in America with the mainstream media its controlling
player and willing accomplice that will stop at nothing to keep
these people in power. And if anyone had any doubt, all they had
to do was watch Hillary's ludicrous appearance on the David
Letterman show, which in effect was a free commercial for her
candidacy, set up to make her look good.

Any journalist who had done any homework at all on the Clintons
could've told the public during the election of 1992 what to
expect from this crowd. Just by examining how they ruled Arkansas
for twelve years, as if it were a Third World banana republic,
and he were Idi Amin and she Evita Peron.

But the mainstream media covered all that up and went even
further. They made it clear that if the Republicans dared to even
mention the "character" issue, that would be construed as
"negative campaigning" or "dirty politics," which they portrayed
as "business as usual" on the Republican side.

It is conventional wisdom (now there's an oxymoron for you) for
example, that it is the Republicans who always play the "race
card" - shamelessly exploiting racial fear and prejudice for
their electoral advantage. And the example they always point to
is how George Bush "used" Willie Horton in this way in 1988 -
deliberately pandering to white fears of black criminals.

I won't even get into the absurdity of portraying Willie Horton -
a convicted murderer and rapist - as the "victim" here of the
mean, nasty, "racist" Republicans.

But as Bill Bradley recently pointed out (and I have known for 8
years) it was Al Gore who first "used" Willie Horton against
Dukakis in the Democratic primaries - but Gore has never been
accused of racism for doing so. In fact, no one ever accused the
Lawrence Eagle Tribune for racism either, although they won a
Pulitzer Prize for their investigation of the prison furlough
program which focused on the Horton case. Nor did we ever see the
Irrelevant Jesse Jackson or the bloviating Al Sharpton boycotting
Time magazine for racism, which first published Horton's photo,
all pre-Bush.

And yet it is Republicans, and only Republicans, who the media
continually bashes for playing the "race card."

Look at how they spin this ridiculous controversy over flying the
Confederate flag over the South Carolina State house. Is it a
coincidence that South Carolina has a GOP-controlled legislature?
And why, after all these years, is this an issue at all? Are they
afraid that George W. is making some inroads into the black vote,
which they have taken for granted for 50 years?

Oh, then why hasn't anyone complained about the flags of say,
Arkansas and Tennessee?

Actually, I stand corrected. The flag of Bill Clinton's Arkansas
(which contains the dreaded Dixie Stars and Bars) has been
condemned. The condemnation came not against Clinton, but against
Rudy Giuliani for flying the flag in New York after he visited
Arkansas last summer, as a gentle rib against the carpet-bagging
Hillary.

You want to hear textbook hypocrisy, listen to the reactions
Giuliani got from blacks and Liberals in New York City:

* "The Old South is flying over City Hall." -- Councilman Bill
Perkins.

* "It's an insult to African-Americans." -- Manhattan Borough
President Virginia Fields

* "It's a symbol of hatred and racist messages." -- City Council
Speaker Peter Vallone.

But they have no problem with Clinton, who kept a similar flag on
his desk as governor of Arkansas for twelve years? One question
the "tough New York media" will never ask Senate candidate
Hillary: Didn't that "racist" symbol bother, you? Or Al Gore who
had such a similar "symbol of hatred and racism" in his home
state of Tennessee all those years?

The reality is that it is the Democrats - and Clinton and Gore in
particular - who have mastered the playing of the race card, like
Johnny Cochrane (O. J.'s lawyer), "from the bottom of the deck."

During the mayoral race in New York in 1993, Bubba came to town
to campaign for David Dinkins against Rudy and told white New
Yorkers that they "still have trouble voting for people who don't
look like them." Even though Dinkins got about 99% of the black
vote and a substantial percentage of the white vote.

Every single time - without exception - that there has been any
criticism whatsoever for any of Clinton's minority appointments,
the knee-jerk response is "racism." They even played that card
during the Chinese Funny Money business and the Chinese espionage
at our nuclear facilities by calling it "anti-Asian racism."

It's getting uglier by the year. Last year the Democrats ran ads
saying that every vote for a Republican would result in another
black church burning or a black home bombed!

Gore has accused Republicans of "not wanting to count
African-Americans in the census." His campaign manager Donna
Brazile has played the race card several times and because she
herself is an African-American, Gore will never reprimand her,
much less fire her. She has said, "We can't let the white boys
win." Don't forget Clinton is the "first black President" and I
guess she considers Gore the "first black Vice President" as
well. Brazile also stated that Republicans would rather "take
photo ops with black children than feed them."

Then she dissed Colin Powell and J. C. Watts as Republican tokens
and Uncle Toms - typical of how the VLC in America deals with
black conservatives - either ignore them completely or demonize
them.

Remember when J. C. Watts spoke at the Republican National
Convention in 1996? Oh, you don't? Well, I don't blame you
because network television blacked him out. They didn't want
America to see that there even was such a thing as a black
Conservative Republican - much less one who was young, attractive
and eloquent. If the Republicans had any brains, they'd make this
guy the next Speaker of the House. During the time Watts was
speaking, network television cut to Susan Molinari being
interviewed and asked questions like, "Why are you a Republican?
Don't you know that Republican policies are so oppressive to
women?" I'm not making this up.

And when was the last time anyone saw conservative Republican
presidential candidate Alan Keyes on network television? Everyone
who sees him in person testifies that he's the most dynamic and
electrifying speaker of any of the candidates, none of the others
even being close - especially Gore and Bradley - "Dull and
Duller."

But the VLC can't let the conservative message be spoken
eloquently by an African-American. This, of course, is the root
cause of the attempted high-tech lynching and continued
demonization of Clarence Thomas.

The double standard on race is merely one dimension of the VLC.
Take any issue. Has anyone ever seen or heard the pro-life
position on abortion been presented at all - much less in a fair
and balanced manner - on network television or in the mainstream
press?

Ditto gun control, school choice, taxes, immigration, gay rights
- the conservative position is either ignored completely or
presented as racist, sexist, homophobic, or at the very least
"right wing extremist." To the VLC there apparently is no such
thing, by definition, as a Left Wing Extremist.

And how about "women's issues?" Compare the canonization of Anita
Hall as the Rosa Parks of sexual harassment. In reality she was
the Tawana Brawley of sexual harassment, with the demonization of
any and all of Clinton's "bimbo eruptions," a term coined by
their side, which in and of itself shows you how little they
respect women!

Yet the VLC still believes Anita, and gives no credibility or
coverage at all to Juanita Brodderick. And let's not forget how
NBC spiked the interview with Clinton's rape victim until after
the impeachment vote in the Senate, even though Lisa Myers told
her "The good news is you're credible. The bad news is you're
very credible!"

No journalist has ever confronted Bill, Hillary or Al Gore with
one question on the rape charge. A private citizen recently asked
a stunned Al Gore in a town meeting about Juanita, and Gore was
completely flummoxed, and offered the lame VLC mantra about the
country "moving on" and not focusing on the president's "personal
life" or his "mistakes" Hey women's groups, how do you like that?
Rape as a "mistake?"

Then a local Buffalo talk show host had the temerity to ask
Hillary if she'd ever been unfaithful to Bill, in particular with
Vince Foster (allegations of which have gone back more than 10
years); and if she'd ever used drugs.

Someone must've forgotten to tell this fellow the rules of the
VLC - "Oh, no," Hillary indignantly answered - "those kind of
questions are out of bounds!"

But not totally unsubstantiated "rumors" of George W's. cocaine
use. Contrasted to no questions at all about the cocaine use of
Bill Clinton, whose own brother Roger (a convicted cocaine dealer
and addict) said he "had a nose for coke like a vacuum cleaner."

There are other eye witnesses on that score, and a couple of dead
teenagers on railroad tracks who witnessed a drug drop at the
Mena airport.

Al Gore, too, is alleged to have had chronic and continual drug
use, but Newsweek just spiked that story as well.

The same press that prides itself as being a "watchdog" for the
public interest, and especially prides itself on bringing Nixon
down (Woodward and Bernstein are worshiped as saints in every
newsroom in America), has been blind, deaf and dumb for eight
years in the face of treason, rape, murder, perjury, bribery,
obstruction of justice, Travelgate, Filegate, Whitewater, cattle
futures, Funny Money, wag the dog air strikes, Buddhist monks
laundering illegal campaign contributions, witness intimidation,
jury tampering, invasion of privacy, the abuse and misuse of
power on a level never seen in American history.

During Nixon's impeachment, a day didn't go by without wall to
wall network television and press coverage. Clinton's impeachment
wasn't even broadcast on network TV; and the media themselves
made up their own polls asking Americans was it worth removing a
president with a two-thirds approval rating for his "job
performance" simply for having oral sex in the White House. Hey,
that was his private life. Everybody does it. Who wouldn't lie
about it?

You know 89% of this media admitted to voting for Clinton, as
compared to 43% of registered voters in America. They might as
well admit to what is now obvious - they are also actively
campaigning for him, Hillary and Al Gore - and consciously
spinning the news for their benefit.

The ABC News Division recently invited Al Gore to a party at the
division head John Cochran's house - and no conservatives (George
Will for example) were even invited. And no news reports of this
"dinner party" were ever published or broadcast. ABC also
recently sponsored a ludicrous "town hall" meeting with Bradley
and McCain shamelessly promoting "campaign finance reform" which
would result in the complete monopoly of the already wholly
Liberal media to block out all conservative viewpoint. And
remember how ABC's evening news anchor, Peter Jennings,
"reported" the results of the 1994 election, when Republicans
gained control of Congress. He said on the 6 O'clock news: "This
was like a two year old throwing a temper tantrum!"

And who owns ABC? Why, it's Disney, whose CEO is FOB Michael
Eisner. If they were honest, they'd change its name to VLC, or
the Algore Broadcasting Network. The other networks are no
better.

Shall we begin to compare the coverage network television has
accorded Al Gore (basically an eight year free ride), with his
predecessor Dan Quayle (four years of uninterrupted ridicule)?

At one point a "journalist" asked Quayle why he said, before
embarking on a fact-finding trip to Latin America, "Gee, I wish I
spoke Latin." Quayle replied that he never said that; in fact it
was a joke told about him by the host on the Tonight Show.

It got to the point where all Leno and Letterman had to do was
mention Quayle's name and the audience would split a gut
laughing.

But speaking of Letterman, let's examine Hillary's performance -
and that's all it ever is with these people, a performance.

First of all the Secret Service put the audience in the Ed
Sullivan theatre right at ease up front by threatening to remove
anyone who booed, hissed or shouted at Her Highness "This is not
a political event," they were warned, "so leave your politics
outside!" And if you think that was an idle threat, I'd like you
to meet Pat Mendoza of Chicago, who was arrested by the Secret
Service in July 1996 after shouting "You suck and those boys
died," (following the Khobar Towers terrorist attack) at Clinton.
They arrested her, on direct orders from Bill, for "threatening
the life of the president."

A Chicago WMAQ videotape clearly showed Clinton pointing out
Mendoza to White House "enforcer" Bruce Lindsey before the Secret
Service arrested her. This has never been broadcast on national
television because the VLC wants to perpetuate the myth that
Clinton is such a sensitive, caring guy who feels our pain, when
the reality is he's the most vicious, vindictive thug who ever
held elective office.

Mrs. Mendoza was held overnight in jail with her husband and
after those trumped up charges were dismissed in court, the
Mendozas found themselves being audited by the Clinton IRS.

As a fascinating contrast, at Bill's 1996 birthday party at Radio
City Music Hall, host Rosie O'Donnell opened the proceedings with
"Dole Sucks!" to the gleeful laughter of the assembled
co-conspirators. Needless to say, Ms. O'Donnell was never
arrested for "threatening the life of Senator Dole" or been
audited by the IRS. More recently, "Queen of Nice" Rosie has been
actively demonizing Rudy over his homeless policies on her
daytime talk show, in effect giving Hillary more free commercial
time.

But the Tiffany network topped even that abomination with
Hillary's appearance on Letterman.

Dave, who had been ribbing Hillary in monologues for weeks, gave
her a "pop quiz" on New York State with such trivia as, "How many
counties are there in NY State?" And she got them all right! Wow
- she is the smartest woman in the world, and so qualified to be
a Senator from this state! Later it was revealed that she had
been shown the "quiz" beforehand, and that's how she was able to
"know" things that most native New Yorkers wouldn't even know.
The Letterman staff, as well, helped her write her hilarious "Top
Ten" list.

All that was missing was Dave bowing down like in Wayne's World
going "I'm unworthy, I'm unworthy."

This of course was in direct contrast to that little "pop quiz"
some "journalist" popped on George W. when he couldn't identify
the president of Chechnya and such, which of course "proved" that
George W. isn't "smart enough" to be president.

Gee - looks like the VLC has found its Second Coming of Quayle.
