I didn't get the long form this year; the only time I remember
getting the long form was in 1980, and it asked the same questions.
So if it's now considered so intrusive, why wasn't there a hue and
cry back then?
I got the short form this year, and felt that some of the questions
were intrusive on it -- namely, the questions regarding whether I
own, rent, or live in someone else's abode without paying rent; I
also felt that my phone number, which I pay extra to have unlisted
and unpublished, is none of the Census Bureau's business...
I also didn't bother answering the question regarding my race. I
DID answer the questions regarding my age and date of birth, since
I feel that is necessary to accurately fulfill the Constitiutional
decree of enumerating the population.

Again, these questions were on the long form I got 20 years ago...
this is nothing new...

I can't remember the above 2 questions being on the 1980 long form...
I suspect it may be a ploy to catch income tax evaders...
