New Zealand has no such ethnic minority that I've ever heard of.  The Maori
are not gender biased, or if they are it's never been discussed a lot.  Now
the other New Zealanders tend to be from England.  They don't seem to get
really riled up there over whether it's a boy or a girl.  I think someone is
pulling your leg.  Prudy
