Friends of Bill Clinton are now actively planning what is being described as the "biggest fund-raiser of all-time" -- a superstar event which may rival only the Oscars in raw celebrity power! "It's going to be a marvelous grand finale for the president," one key money source tells the DRUDGE REPORT in Hollywood. "When the dust settles, it could raise more than $5 million! Maybe 10! Maybe 20! We want to give until there's nothing left to give. We don't want him leaving office with debt for simply standing up for what he believed in. And we want only the best possible library to document his achievements." The event, being planned for later this year, will feature musical performances and a possible all-star video tribute to Clinton. "It's shaping up to be our goodbye gift to a president we adore," said one planner. "Everyone involved is very excited. This is not just going to be another one of those Wolfgang Puck-catered dinners... there is no more emotional project right now. Not even the production of 'Pearl Harbor' can match this." Money raised will seed elaborate plans for the Clinton Presidential Library, Arkansas, which has become a top concern for such powerplayers as Steven Spielberg and David Geffen. Clinton claims he's been consulting on the library with Spielberg. "We're talking about whether we could have some virtual reality effects in my library in the museum," Clinton told a Hollywood crowd last year. The Geff, and others, will make checks payable to The William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation, a recently-created nonprofit group. Guests will also be encouraged to give money to help off-set Clinton's legal burden [although many in Hollywood have already hit the legal limit for contributing to that fund.]. It is not clear if the Democratic National Committee will get any table scraps. Nearly $3 million was collected for the DNC during last weekend's Clinton/Gore baton pass in Beverly Hills.
