Peace at any cost is a prelude to war!
Dear Brigade,
The Bush-Gore cabal and their syndicate of GOP-DEM party bosses are
sitting fat and happy, rubbing their hands in anticipation that Pat Buchanan
will never be able to collect the 56,000 valid signatures needed in Texas
(also
see info for NC below).
Are we going to let these co-conspirators, these extortionists, prevent
Americans from voting for Pat on election day?
It's too late to change their laws that ensure a permanent protection racket
for the GOP-DEM's -- But it's not too late to get down to Texas and wipe
those smirks off their faces!

Buchanan begins 3-week push to get place on ballot in Texas
04/18/2000
By Carolyn Barta / The Dallas Morning News
The Buchanan Brigade moves into Texas on Tuesday, opening a three-week
battle to get Reform Party presidential hopeful Pat Buchanan on the
November ballot.
Calling it the "toughest state in the nation" for an independent or
third-party
candidate, Mr. Buchanan is mustering volunteers, hired guns and campaign
staff to gather 56,000 petition signatures by May 8.
"Our headquarters is a ghost town," he said Monday in a telephone interview.
Texas is a difficult state because of the large number of signatures required
and little time to circulate petitions. Only the signatures of registered
voters
who did not vote in a party primary or sign any other ballot-access petition
are considered valid.
Mr. Buchanan, who will hold rallies Tuesday night at the Sheraton Grand
Hotel in Irving and Wednesday in Houston, said the Republican Party of
George W. Bush presents no real alternative to the Democrats.
"The problem with Mr. Bush and the party establishment is that they're
almost indistinguishable from Bill Clinton and Al Gore," said Mr. Buchanan, a
former Republican.
He said the Texas governor has declared his "neutrality" on traditional family
values by meeting with gay activists and refusing to rule out potential
running
mates who support abortion rights.
"He has raised the white flag in the cultural war," Mr. Buchanan said. "On
right to life, Gore is militantly pro-abortion and Mr. Bush can teach it
either
way. So where is the difference?"
Other areas of Bush-Gore agreement include trade and immigration, he said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Buchanan said he will not force an anti-abortion plank on the
platform at the Reform Party national convention Aug. 10-13 in Long Beach,
Calif. The party has always eschewed social issues.
He will pledge, however, that his running mate and Supreme Court nominees
will oppose abortion.
Social issues aside, he calls himself a "good fit" for the party founded by
Dallas billionaire Ross Perot because "it is populist, for economic
patriotism,
putting the country first and for keeping America out of wars and conflicts
where we have no vital interests."
Mr. Buchanan is seeking ballot access in 29 states where the Reform Party
is not on the ballot. He has qualified in Utah, South Dakota and Hawaii.
In Texas, he's petitioning as an independent, and the Reform Party is running
a concurrent petition drive to gain ballot status for the party. While he
would
prefer to petition on behalf of the party, he said that "in some cases, we
don't
know who's going to claim that the franchise belongs to them."
Mr. Perot remains an unlikely candidate, but some party loyalists still hope
he will run for the third time. The party's nominee will get $12.5 million in
federal campaign funds because of Mr. Perot's showing in 1996, when he
garnered more than 8 million votes.
Mr. Buchanan claims that access to federal funds should qualify the party's
nominee for national debates, and has filed suit with the Federal Election
Commission. He said he believes he will win the legal and public-opinion
battle to be in the debates, whether or not he reaches the required 15
percent threshold in national polls by then.
