Virus Warnings are a pet peeve,
especially when the person who passes it on hasn't done his/her homework...
There are several very good Virus Alert / Hoax checking services available
on the internet. It only takes a minute or two to go to and research the
information you've been sent by someone who inadvertently didn't do their
homework to begin with...
One of these legitimate and hoax researching outlets is :
Data Fellows
http://www.datafellows.com/news/hoax.htm
who have always, in my opinion, been up to date and very informative with
regards to real alerts and real hoaxes. Put their address in your favorite
places and when you feel the 'urge' to pass on another virus alert, go
their first and research it before you panic.
To research the WOBBLER virus alert - just go:
http://www.datafellows.com/hoaxes/wobbhoax.htm
To research WIN A HOLIDAY - just go:
http://www.datafellows.com/hoaxes/winholid.htm
and
http://www.datafellows.com/hoaxes/holiday.htm
Again, it only takes a minute to research information like this before you
pass it on.
Thanks for listening (reading as the case may be).
