Advertising in your Dreams
Biolink Co, Ltd an Edinburgh, Scotland based company will
soon be broadcasting advertising directly into people's
dreams.
According to Dr. Frank McGregor, the president of Biolink,
"while trying to create interactive switches between the
brain and a computer we discovered we could transmit
complex signals directly to the human brain, rather like a
TV transmitter sends out signals that are picked up by your
telly.
"Our first thought was to create a new form of television.
But this wasn't practical as signals can only be received
when the mind is in a relaxed state. However our marketing
people, normally the least creative group around, had a
brainstorm: transmit advertisements late at night."
Initial tests, according to Dr. McGregor, have been
positive. "We put together an advert for a particular brand
of coffee and transmitted it around four in the morning.
The following morning everyone in town was looking for that
coffee."
The British Advertising Standards Authority was not ready
to comment on the new form of advertising. However, the
president of one major advertising agency reputed wet his
pants out of excitement when he learnt of the new means of
advertising.
