Prudy: My thought exactly. What the change in curriculum shows is those today
are being put behind the educational curve depsite what the pols say to the
contrary. There has been a gradual reduction in the ability for the youngsters
to perform in several areas, math being one of them, and thoxe that can't
become somewhat proficient in these areas get further and further behind.
People worry about the gap in wages/income but this 'gap' is determined by how
much someone knows; so, along with economic serfdom comes the
educational/intellectual serfdom. It may seem like a 'chicken and the egg'
argument but needless to say, we have both eggs and chickens now, at the same
time.
