OK, both of you make very valid points, ones I can't disagree with. But I am
still very suspicious that something very serious is being covered up in
this particular case, something involving security at the highest levels of
the State Department. I smell a very large and very dead rat here. The news
media are doing more than simply pandering to the appetite of the American
public for celebrities and children in distress. We know full well that
editors of both print and electronic media have spiked or slanted stories
numerous times to benefit their corporate masters and their
bought-and-paid-for politicians. The White House press secretary and
director of communications exist to spin the news, and for no other purpose;
that's why the press secretary is deliberately kept out of the loop on so
much, so the media won't be able to catch him/her lying. It's the timing of
the sudden upwelling of interest in Elian, after the story spent months on
page A24, that makes me suspect desinformatsiya. And this particular op has
been very effective...how many posts about the State Department heist have
appeared on CTRL, and how many posts about Elian?
