NEW YORK CBS This photo accompanied the lot's description on eBay. (CBS) Someone on eBay is offering the "100% Genuine Raft Used by Elian!!!" The photo shows a piece of particle board with what appear to be nicely-finished sideboards along the edges, with an automobile tire leaning against it. The only problem is that the survivors of six-year-old Elian Gonzalez's trip to America have said that they embarked on a 17-foot power boat that capsized. Elian and the others then survived by floating on inner tubes. Bidding started at $20, and, with seven days remaining before the May 7th end of the online auction, the price had reached more than $140,000. By Monday morning, bidding had hit $10 million � but many of the bidders have little or no "bidding histories," indicating either inexperienced participants or eBay accounts created just for the purpose of bidding up the alleged raft. Many of the bidders may also be expecting eBay to pull the lot, as it did earlier this year with a page from a coloring book allegedly completed by the boy. "The high bidder will become the owner of the most desirable piece of memorabilia from the new millenium. THIS IS FOR SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY." The seller uses the nom de eBay of "Digital Collectibles," and receives email at [EMAIL PROTECTED] The member profile on America Online for that screen name indicates only that he is a male in New Jersey. The information on eBay indicates the item is located in Miami. Kissel144 has had 21 feedback responses, the most recent from early March, and all but one are positive. The New York Daily News reports that it was unable to reach the seller at the toll-free 800 number given in the item's description, nor could it obtain comment from eBay.
