Thank you. This needs to be said more often.
<<THIS IS WHY MOST FAMILIES TODAY ARE DUAL INCOME FAMILIES.
ONE SPOUSE WORKS TO PAY THE TAXES,
ONE SPOUSE WORKS TO PAY THE FAMILY'S BILLS AND EXPENSES.

On top of the above reality, the government indoctrination centers
(commonly called public schools), and the national media have
spread the doctrine that there is something wrong with a woman
who doesn't have a career outside the home.

So for a high percentage of families, homeschooling presents
some nearly insurmountable obstacles.

I want to give a word of encouragement (bear with me Kris if this seems
like soap-boxing): IT CAN BE DONE!!!!!

My primary job is full-time homemaker/mom. I homeschool my children. I
do it for philosophical reasons; my husband, while not convinced of the
political angle, does agree that the schools aren't doing enough from
an academic standpoint.

I also work a part-time job outside the home, for several reasons, none
of which have to do with women's lib: My husband lost his job 2 years
ago, and took a big pay cut in his next job; last year he had a heart
attack and spent 3 months on disability; he is ten years older than I
am and the actuarial tables are on my side; I don't believe a woman is
"unfulfilled" if she doesn't have a job outside the home, but I do
believe that every woman should have some marketable skill, just in
case she has to earn her own living. I have money set aside in my
credit union account IN MY NAME ONLY, not because I don't trust him,
but because if he should die -- and he has had one heart attack already
-- our joint accounts would be frozen until after probate. New Jersey
probate takes several months, and most of the estate goes towards legal
fees anyway. The kids and I would be on the street by then.
