Do you also postulate that all the other meds found on the doctor,
used for urinary, respiratory, and skin infections, were also to
used on Elian?
> Jane Orient, M.D., executive director of the Association of
> American Physicians and Surgeons,
First time I've heard of this 'association'...how many physicians
and surgeons actually belong to it. And what is good doctor Orient's
medical specialty? Is she qualified to make long-distance assessment
of Elian's mental and emotional state?
> "The child's being treated by Cubans who are not licensed to
> practice in the United States," said Orient.
"...not licensed to practice in the United States..." is a far cry
from a blanket "not licensed". One would presume most foreign
doctors aren't licensed to practice in the United States, especially
doctors from countries with which we haven't had diplomatic ties
for decades. That doesn't mean the doctors from those countries
aren't qualified to practice. In fact, many may be imminently MORE
qualified than their American counterparts...wouldn't change the
fact that they 'are not licensed to practice in the United States.'
> "Sure," she said. "They may be using drugs,
'May' is not 'is'...
> or maybe they're
> just using manipulation, isolation, seclusion, and threats and
> promises. I mean, how do you find out what's going on in there?"
Dr. Orient thereby amply displays her orientation in this matter.
She has not seen Elian (indeed states that the child is isolated and
secluded), yet presumes to 'know' that he is being manipulated, and
manipulated with 'threats and promises'...
Considering that last weekend Elian was brought to a dinner party
held by Democratic bigwigs, hardly bolsters the "he's being kept
isolated and secluded" argument.
(BTW, I think this dinner party is as heinous as anything the Miami
gang did to the kid)
> U.S. marshals at the Aspen Institute in Wye, Maryland, are
> holding the boy under guard.
I'd actually say that they are keeping the public, especially the
anti-Castro fanatics, and the Miami relatives OUT, rather than
serving the function to keep Elian IN...
> Many Cubans have been permitted to
> be with him, but lawyers, doctors, the press and even elected
> officials have been prevented from observing Elian.
Again, last weekend's dinner party discounts the 'even elected
officials' claim...
> Drugs were confiscated from the Cubans as they entered the U.S.
> and again when they left,
Which tends to discount the claim the drugs were destined for Elian...
after all, one would presume the Cuban doctors would have then left
the drugs behind at Wye, and not brought them with them as they left
the country.
> Orient said one drug involved was Meprobamate, which is also
> known as Miltown.
And others were meds used for urinary, respiratory, and skin infections,
and yet I don't see her or the others who are jumping on this bandwagon
claiming that these also were destined for Elian.
And if these particular non-psychoactive meds were NOT meant for Elian,
there is no reason to presume the psychoactives were...
What also isn't being mentioned is that all the psychoactives mentioned
cause severe withdrawal symptoms when stopped suddenly. If these Cuban
doctors WERE bringing these meds for Elian, it suggests that perhaps
the child may have been previously drugged, and was expiriencing
withdrawal symptoms which the doctors sought to alleviate...
In which case, we need to point the finger at the Miami relatives...
whom _I_ believe had Elian on psychoactive medication(s)...
> "I don't think it's used very much in this country at all
> anymore.
She "thinks"?!? This statement reveals the good Dr. Orient is probably
NOT a specialist in psychiatric and psychologic matters. One would
expect a spokesperson for such an organization to KNOW the exact status
of the med's use...not speculate about it.
> It's certainly not supposed to be used on children,"
> Orient explained. She said it is an anti-anxiety drug used to
> "calm the person down and make him more amenable to whatever
> suggestions his keepers want to make.
I'd like the good Dr. Orient to tell me what reputable medical tome
describes the protocols for Miltown's use as a way to 'make him more
amenable to whatever suggestions his keepers want to make.'
> I suppose for many people it just has a mind-numbing effect."
Again, we have the good doctor making a supposition, a supposition
based on prejudice and not on direct observation, instead of stating
FACT.

> Orient concern.
>
> "Certainly that's a method of psychological torture, or even life

Again, supposition based on prejudice and not on directly observing
the subject in question.
Elian hardly looked like he was in insulin shock at last weekend's
dinner party...

And yet the good doctor expects us to take her own non-first-hand
assessment seriously?
> Elian's personal doctor has also expressed great concern over

Gee, I thought this whole shebang was about the meds found in the
bag of Elian's 'personal doctor' from Cuba, the one who has known
and treated him all his life...not the doctor aligned with the
Miami gang who has only treated the child for a few months.
> "The bottom line is, you've got Dr. Lydia Usategui who was
> legally treating the boy with the permission of the guardians.
These anti-Castro fanatics keep revealing more than they know.... ;-)
"...treating the boy..." with WHAT?
After his medical exam following his rescue, Elian was pronounced
perfectly healthy. Why the the need to 'treat' the child?
> She was tear gassed the morning of the raid.
Actually, no tear gas was used, just pepper spray. Perhaps a minor
point to some, but it again displays Dr. Orient's inprecision of
speech...
> Both Usategui and her husband Alfred Manrara were present during
> the government raid to take the boy by force.
Interesting. Again, why the desperate need to have the doctor on
hand, if Elian was presumably so healthy?
> "Her intention had been to be inside the home next to the child
> to witness (as a psychiatrist) how the Justice Department would

> imagining that it would be violent or with such brutal force),"
> wrote Manrara.
Again, these nutcases reveal more than they realize (who was it
that opined that most people are too stupid to be good liars?)...
Time and again we heard from Marisleysis, Lazaro, and The Janitor
Who Would Like To Be Known As The Fisherman, that they had absolutely
no idea the INS would show up that night to take Elian. A statement
which was always more fishy than the Janitor's claim to be a
Fisherman, because why have a crowd in the house, a crowd that
included an NBC camerman and an AP photographer who just happened to
be in position to snap that infamous photo?
Here they admit two very revealing facts: first, that they indeed
suspected the INS would arrive that night; and second, that this
'personal doctor' is not a pediatrician; neither is she a social
worker or a psychologist, who could have treated Elian for emotional
trauma, but would NOT have been able to prescribe drugs for him.
No, we are now told that this child, who the Miami gang would have
us believe was perfectly happy with them, had a 'personal doctor'
who is a PSYCHIATRIST, a doctor who could legally prescrive any
manner of psychoactives to be used on the child.
Which tends to bolster the theory that if the Cuban doctors'
psychoactives were meant for Elian, it was because he was
expiriencing withdrawal from the meds Dr. U. had subjected him to.
> "Meanwhile, I (there to accompany my wife) was within 10 feet of
> the home's front door, was thrown by the agents against a fence,
> got pepper gas, and witnessed the screaming child being taken
> right in front of me to the waiting van," explained Manrara.
Of course the child was screaming, because the Miami gang arranged
things so as to make it the most traumatic to Elian as it could be.
If they had turned him over when they were supposed to, the whole
trauma could have been averted.
> Orient and Serkes believe Elian is being drugged so he can be
> conditioned and prepared for his court appearance.
As opposed to the drugging the Miami gang did for the same purpose?
Again, what FACTS do these people give us to support this contention?
What direct assessment?
>(My Note:
> apparently Elian was not yet properly conditioned, and so did not
> appear in court earlier today.)
Why subject the kid to more trauma?
> "We can't go in and ask them to release his medical records,
> because from our viewpoint that would violate his rights,
Yes, and turn-about-is-fairplay, we could also then demand to see
Elian's medical records from the time he was in the custody of the
Miami gang...and I strongly suspect they do NOT want that information
revealed...
And I believe they are so ready to accuse others of drugging Elian to
facilitate a brainwashing procedure, because they themselves did the
same thing to the poor kid.
> She said she has spoken extensively with Usategui who believes
> Elian's stubborn desire to stay in the U.S. has proven
> challenging for Cuban doctors trying to recondition him.
How does Dr. U. know Elian has a 'stubborn desire to stay in the
U.S.' if she hasn't seen him since he was taken away?
Unless she herself programmed that 'stubborn desire' into the child.
Remember, Elian was shown on CNN last November, just after being
rescued, repeated stating in strong language that he wanted to go
back home to Cuba...
So what 'treatment' did Dr. U. subject the child to so that in a
period of a few months his stubborn desire to return to Cuba was
supposedly replaced by a stubborn desire to remain in the U.S.?
Why wasn't Elian being seen by a pediatrician? Why a psychiatrist?
> "It's her assessment that they're not getting anywhere, because
> if they were getting anywhere they'd have him propped up in front
> of a camera making a statement by now.
Like the Miami gang did?
Just because the Miami gang subjected the boy to such abuse, one
shouldn't expect his father to follow suit...
Again, these people are revealing more than they know...they are
basically admitting that anything Elian says when propped up in
front of a camera is the result of being drugged and brainwashed...
> She said he's a pretty
> hardheaded little boy about that. He does not want to go back to
> Cuba. She said he was very clear about that. He had no problem
> being with his father, but he does not want to go back," said
> Serkes.
Yes, I'm sure that when they asked the boy if he wanted to stay in
the U.S., or go back to Cuba, where he'd no longer get showered with
gifts, or brought to expensive amusement parks, or be allowed to roam
about with little or no supervision into the wee hours of the morning
(shown on TV playing on the backyard swing set at 1am in the morning),
that indeed he expressed the desire to stay in the U.S.
> Orient complained that Dr. Irwin Redlener was appointed by the
> INS to provide information to the Justice Department without ever
> personally examining Elian.
Gee, never having personally examined Elian doesn't stop Dr. Orient
from espousing any number of outrageous theories...
> Redlener is a prominent pediatrician
> with longstanding political ties to President Bill Clinton and
> First Lady Hillary Clinton. He played a significant role in the
> drafting of the failed Clinton health care reform package.
But at least he's a pediatrician...which the Miami gang seems to have
neglected to bring Elian to...
> "We are appalled that the Department of Justice and the INS may
> have relied on the armchair diagnosis of an administration
> operative
And yet Dr. Orient expects us to take HER 'armchair diagnosis'
seriously?
> "We're just appalled at this, and we're appalled that doctors
> would allow themselves to be used as propaganda pawns," Serkes
> stated.
Doesn't seem to bother Dr. Orient and her supposed organization...
> Only his previously estranged father,
Estranged from who? Not Elian, because the father had joint custody,
and took care of Elian between 3 to 5 times a week. Indeed, we've
seen many pictures of a smiling, obviously happy Elian, taken with
his father and stepmother in Cuba.

Something tells me that this 'prophecy' is one of convenience for
a very narrow segment of Santeria, practiced only by the Cuban
emigres. Anyone who knows anything about Santeria knows that
there was no prophecy regarding a savior of Cuba. Not surprising,
since Santeria encompasses worshippers from many countries, not
just Cuba.
