Misunderstanding Rudy's Friend
It�s not like Monicagate at all.
Hillary Watch
Tracking the smartest lady in the world.
So Hillary thinks that it is "delicious" that there is a sudden
reversal of roles in the NY Senate campaign. Rudy has a woman on
the side.
The reflexive thinking of the Hillaristas is that now the whole
Monica-gate affair is moot.
However, it is exactly the opposite. First of all, Rudy's newly
minted girlfriend is a grown woman, not some young thang who was
entrusted to the President in loco parentis. Secondly, the
Lewinsky affair had nothing to do with adultery as far as the
public was concerned. It was a matter of perjury, sexual
harassment, and obstruction of justice.
The real measure how Rudy is handling this situation is how he
and his wife have come clean about their relationship's troubles.
Rudy's better half, Donna Hanover, stated just yesterday that she
would be standing by her man while acknowledging the obvious
rift. A real class act: no blaming a vast right-wing conspiracy;
no cockamamie stories about walking into the bedroom to hear Bill
say "you'll never guess what they're saying in the paper now!" At
least Rudy, family and Friend have enough respect for their
constituents to be forthright and honest.
Rudy and Donna are grown-ups, while Hillary and Bill are simply
overgrown children blaming anyone but themselves.
Maybe Hillary is thinking about: "Aha, why does she stand by her
man?" The fact is that everyone has known that Rudy and Donna
have been past-tense for years. It is and has been no secret.
No, Morals Doesn't Mean Cloning Gore It must be wrenching to Hill
and Bill's sense of Right and Wrong to have to memorialize John
"Cardinal" O'Connor. (Hill: "That's a New York Mafia thing,
right? Like Vinnie �The Chin� Gigante or Sammy �The Bull�
Gravano, right? Ucchh, I hate this ethnic stuff!)
What must really boil Hill's egg is that there are so many devout
members of one denomination in NYC that have a conservative
(Catholic) ethic.
A full third of NYC's population is Catholic, who see the
Cardinal as a true holy man who is opposed to abortion,
premarital sex, and homosexuality with honest conviction and
sound reasoning for his views.
She has yet to realize that there are conservative citizens in
NYC.
Hillary wouldn't even be there in St. Pat's if she were not
running for Senate. After all, she is in the same camp as the gay
groups who are lobbying to have the Vatican removed from the
United Nations. (Why bother having the spiritual capital of one
quarter of the Earth's population represented in the council of
nations if they are pro-life?)
One can also rest assured that Hillary was looking at her watch
during Mass. She surely was sorry she couldn't make it in time to
join NYC's former mayor David Dinkins et al. at the Madison
Square Garden rally for Mumia being held at the same time as the
Cardinal's interment.
