Perhaps. But Lloyd's has hundreds of years of admiralty law on its side.
Anything lost at sea is fair game for anyone wishing to salvage it. Many
coastal towns in both Canada, the U.S., and the Caribbean made a good living
via salvaging ships that wrecked off their shores, going back to colonial
times.
I'm surprised no Nova Scotians are making a try for it...
