I think this is an excellent idea. We used to have a booklet on good
speak, bad speak and no speak (ie "Totem and Taboo in North Bongo
Bongo") issued under Multiculturalism Minister Jerry Wiener. Long, long
ago (when Barney Frank was just a little Fairy and Jerry was just a little
Wiener) Canada/USA were very different countries and we didn't think we
needed such guidelines. But every culture has such a code. Levity aside I
think it is something which we should have in the utmost detail so we all
know where matters stand. Gosh, I wonder...when it is all set out who will
be at the top of the totem and who will be at the bottom of multicultural
Bongo Bongo North. And what kind of caricatures will the wood carvers
give us while avoiding political incorrectness?
