Bollocks to the Bacon theory! The man was a great writer but not equipped
with the style or manner of the author of the Shakespeare canon. In fact,
there is quite a fair bit known about Shakespeare, contrary to arguments
suggesting otherwise, and he is much better known than many of the other
playwrights of the era. Also he may have been a "commoner" but it shows an
egregious bias on the part of contemporary people to assume that that
rendered the man incapable of ever aquiring the knowledge displayed in his
plays and, in support of that fact, quite a number of major poets and
writers emerged from extremely humble circumstances before and long after
Shakespeare. You may want to check out a Brit publication "The Shakespeare
Conspiracy" by Graham Phillips and Martin Keatman that proposes a
plausible theory on why Shakespeare, the true author of his plays, was
then and now such a mysterious figure.
