Subject: Talking Points - An Intelligence Report
According to a recent poll commissioned by the Pew Research
Center for the People and the Press, only 48% of Americans
closely follow the national news. A new low for the industry. At
the same time, the percentage of those regularly watching local
evening news has fallen to 30%... half of what it was in 1993.
In Illinois, the Chicago Tribune has managed to lose an
astonishing 8% of their readership in the past couple of years.
Many say this loss has resulted from advocacy reporting,
misinformation, disinformation, and the outright lies now
epidemic within the Tribune, and indeed, throughout most of the
so-called �Main Stream� media.
Several weeks ago we indicated the Impact Voters of America would
soon initiate a new program designed to address problems
associated with gaining timely, accurate information quickly and
easily. Today, we can fill you in with the exciting details!
The Impact Voters, in conjunction with some of the worlds
greatest researchers and authors, is proud to announce the
launching of �Talking Points�, an emailed newsletter loaded with
intelligence and facts gathered from a variety of impeccable
sources.
Talking Points will be a FREE, very condensed newsletter designed
around your hectic schedule. By providing you with unimpeachable
information, developed by a variety of experts in specific areas,
you will have an array of facts at your fingertips difficult to
find elsewhere. The ready availability of these facts will not
only relieve you of the sometimes tortuous tasks of finding this
information yourself, but it will also provide you with the
talking points necessary to confront and beat back the liars and
deceivers.
Each newsletter will contain up to four SHORT paragraphs of
approximately 150 words each. Each of these paragraphs will
contain a set of facts surrounding a particular issue. Included
in each paragraph will be a link(s) to a summary article
expanding on the subject as well as to the full article/research
material itself.
These intelligence summaries will cover a variety of topics
including environmental issues (global warming and ozone
depletion come to mind), educational issues (home based
schooling, outcome based education, and the current state of
education in general), Constitutional items (2nd Amendment
rights, States rights, etc.), governmental abuses (how about
Waco?), Social Security issues, taxing matters including spending
abuses (pork), voting fraud, media misinformation/outright lies,
and polling manipulations.
Each weekly newsletter will contain the subject line of �Talking
Points - (Date of Issue)�. As conditions warrant, more frequent
newsletters will be issued.
Some of the organizations committed to this project so far
include Citizens Against Government Waste, Citizens For A Fair
Vote Count, the Heartland Institute, the Initiative and
Referendum Institute, Killology Research Group, Republicans For A
Fair Media, the Rockford Institute, Sovereignty, the Taxpayers
Accountability Network, and the Taxpayer�s Network.
Individual contributors will include Ian Goodard (researcher,
philosopher), David Hackworth (national security issues) Ed Henry
(Social Security expert), Jon Zahm (governmental abuses), Karl
Peterson (local control issues), John LaPlante and Lee Lerner (a
variety of issues), and many others.
