Subject: AOL Reston Next to CIA

Well for Fuck's sake... I finally found SOME of the information I was
looking for on <A HREF="http://anti-aol.org/knightheart/realm.html">http://ant
i-aol.org/knightheart/realm.html</A>

AOL Reston is IMMEDIATELY ACROSS THE HIGHWAY from the building that the
Federation of American Scientists www.fas.org identifies as the CIA
TASC building. This puts it directly in the district that FAS had
identified for other spy-related industries. This was rather
predictable, as high bandwidth fiber optics are expensive to lay...

For a satellite shot of AOL Reston, look to the map at
<A HREF="http://www.fas.org/irp/overhead/ciaode.htm">http://www.fas.org/irp/ov
erhead/ciaode.htm</A>
it should be about in the middle - probably #16
(listed on the legend as COMSEARCH)
Note that these buildings are aligned directly across the Dulles
expressway from the CIA building. (note that TASC is not the only CIA
building in Reston...)

Use mapquest.com to look up 12100 Sunset Hills Road... note that it is
immediately north of the expressway, while 12100 Sunrise Drive is
immediately south of it

P.S. I still could sure use the AOL Vienna address (they laid fiber
optic between the two, as you see below; there are CIA buildings in
Vienna but are they adjacent? Likewise, there's "Dulles"... I don't
even know for sure where it or "22000 AOL way" really is defined as,
but it's packed with CIA and AOL operations and should be somewhere
adjacent to Reston.

CIA Office of Development & Engineering
12020/12030 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, VA 22090

The compound at 12100 Sunset Hills Road in Reston was publicly
identified at the time of its construction as belonging to CIA. CIA's
Foreign Broadcast Information Service acknowledges that its primary
operating location is in Reston, and it may be assumed that one of the
buildings on Sunset Hill Road is used by FBIS. Jeff Richelson has
written that CIA's Directorate of Science and Technology Office of
Development and Engineering, which is the CIA component of the National
Reconnaissance Office, has a new location in Reston, and it may be
presumed that the other building at this site houses this office. The
proximity of TASC [at 12100 Sunset Hills Road], which is a siginificant
participant in the imagery intelligence activities of DS&T/ODE would
seem to confirm this assessment. This evaluation is further supported
by the presence on the other side of the Dulles Access Road of a number
of contractors [such as Lockheed Martin and Intergraph] associated with
imagery intelligence, as well as the Defense Mapping Agency, which is
slated to be consolidated, along with DS&T/ODE, into the new National
Imagery and Mapping Agency.

With the completion of the consolidation of NRO to the Permanent
Facility in Chantilly, there has been a significant reduction in
activity at this facility.
