7/16/00 Just in case one is still naive enough to think that the " Peace " summit is or has ever been about justice for Palestinians, or security for Israel, here is more evidence of what it has always been about. The pacification of the region is for the purpose of setting up a NAFTA like region in that contentious part of the world. It is really one giant business deal for corporate capitalists from the U.S., Europe, Israel, and Palestine as represented by Arafat and his regime. The actual needs of Israelis and Palestinians take a back seat to the needs of businessmen represented by all the governments involved. The Israeli Labor Party is controlled by American interests. Arafat has no power, and will wind up with the short end of the stick for his people, but with a nice fat bank account in Switzerland and shares of the new businesses in Palestine. James Carville, Stanley Greenburg, and Bob Shrum, all DemocRAT PR hacks of the Clinton administration on loan to the Israeli Labor Party, ( and who incidently, got Barak elected over Netanyahu,) are in Israel for the purpose of spinning the Israeli public and getting them ready for the referendum on the " peace " deal being finalized in Washington. Israel and Palestine will be at war within a year. MK Avigdor Lieberman (Yisrael B'Aliyah) said putting the center in the embassy turns it into a branch of the Labor Party and that national institutions should not be used for political purposes. He intends to appeal to the state comptroller and the comptroller of the Foreign Ministry. MK Limor Livnat (Likud), who is in Washington, said she will ask acting Attorney General Edna Arbel and the Civil Service commission to remove the private businessmen from state offices. Friday's Hebrew edition of Ha'aretz reported that Barak associates Moshe Goan and Tel Zilberstein were briefing cabinet ministers on the summit. On Wednesday they met Minister Haim Ramon, Justice Minister Yossi Beilin and Communications Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer in Ramon's offices. Livnat said "there is no line of separation between capital and the government, and it is inconceivable for private business people with vested interests to be working within any government offices giving orders to state employees." She said "the prime minister continues to disregard the attorney general by employing attorney Gilad Sher for sensitive diplomatic missions although he is not a state employee, and in violation to the instructions of the attorney general. -------------------------------------------------------------------- IMRA: Following the money to Tal Silberstein and Moshe Gaon Aaron Lerner Date: 16 July, 2000 Tal Silberstein, Ehud Barak's campaign manager and chief publicist and Moshe Gaon, Barak's 1999 campaign spokesman and adviser, are now working at no charge as public relations consultants for the Camp David Summit. Silberstein earns his living by running GCS - Israel Issue Management. The consultancy's initials stand for its five partners' surnames: The "G" is for Stanley Greenberg (Clinton's own polling specialist) and for Moshe Gaon; "C" is James Carville, Clinton's chief campaign strategist, credited with making Bill the "comeback kid."; "S" is for another Clinton spin doc, media consultant Robert Schrum, and, of course, for Silberstein himself. GCS�s first major deal was a multimillion contract to represent the three cellular telephone companies. The contract, granted to GCS without a tender, was signed shortly after the elections. At the time, the cellular companies were facing heavy public pressure out of concern for the possible radiation hazard presented by the many cellular telephone antennas placed across the country. GCS lobbies both before the Knesset and the various relevant government ministries, including the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of the Environment.
