George W. “Skywalker” Bush as our presidential candidate to square off against the Democrats’ nominee, Vice President Al “Darth Vader” Gore. Then, once the convention is over, we’ll embark on a special “Road To Victory” national campaign training tour on the drive back. Many of you have written requesting that the campaign training programs we’ve been conducting as part of the Campaign War College in Nevada and Utah this summer be made available in other cities and communities as well. Just asking. :) ********************* Education Establishment Holding Kids Hostage “Calling it irresponsible and a threat to public school reform efforts, the (California) State Board of Education voted yesterday to oppose the voucher initiative on the November ballot. Several newspapers today report on the board, with officials saying the initiative would undermine several years of school improvement efforts. Not so says Timothy Draper. The Silicon Valley entrepreneur is sponsoring the initiative. Under Draper's plan, parents would get a check for $4,000 for each child -- to be redeemed at any school, whether public, private or parochial. “Coming to Draper's aid is the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled last week that the government can use taxpayer money to support private schools. In a ‘Vouchers Strike Back’ editorial, the LA Daily News says, ‘The education establishment is scared to death.
