Activist calls for MJ 12 disclosure
July 25, 2000 08:24 CDT

Another Internet-enabled petition drive has been launched to pressure the
U.S, federal government in UFO and extraterrestrial-related disclosure and
investigation--this one calling for an investigation into the so-called
"Majestic 12" (MJ-12) top secret organization within the government.

It's the second call for support for UFO-related petitions on the
www.petitionpetition.com website in recent weeks. Launched by disclosure
advocate Larry Bryant, of Alexandria, VA., in late April, the MJ 12 petition
had been signed by some 169 individuals by Sunday, and Bryant forwarded its
demands to a flock of high-level government officials. (Another petition last
month called on NASA to re-image the Cydonia region of Mars to search for
possible ET life there.)

Bryant sent the "Petition to Investigate MJ-12 UFO-Coverup Revelations" was
sent to the Secretary of the Army, CIA director, Secretary of the Department
of Energy, the director of the Office of Special Counsel, and U.S. Attorney
General on Sunday.

"Citizens from all walks of life--from homemakers and students to government
workers and professional specialists --are requesting that you take all
appropriate action toward fulfilling their plea as expressed in the text of
the petition," said Bryant in his letter of transmittal to the public
officials.

The petition alleges "the inspectors general of three federal agencies--the
Central Intelligence Agency, the Department of the Army, and the Department
of Energy--are continuing to ignore a written request to investigate their
agencies' role in the official coverup of the 'UFO/E.T. experience'."

Bryant says the petition "sets the stage for a forthcoming Petition for Writ
of Mandamus, to be filed in federal court in Washington, D.C."

"If the officials involved persist in stonewalling the formal request to
investigate their agencies' role in the UFO coverup as revealed by certain
whistleblower-"leaked" documentation (now posted upon the website of
http://www.majesticdocuments.com), then they'll have to justify their
decision not to just the Court of Public Opinion but also to the U.S.
District Court for the District of Columbia," said the disclosure activist.

Bryant is not alone in his belief that a secret (MJ-12) group was created in
1947 among high military and scientific leaders to manage and direct
information and research related to visitations to Earth by alien species.
"Known as Majestic-Twelve, the 12-member panel managed for decades to keep
its affairs hidden from public view--until one or more whistleblowers began
to leak documentary evidence of those affairs," says Bryant in the petition.

The petition calls on the recipients to "cease their stonewalling and to
fulfill their statutory duty to investigate (and to report upon) whatever
role their agencies have had (and continue to have) in concealing from public
view various hard evidence of UFO/E.T. reality." If the petition is
unsuccessful, Bryant intends to seek disclosure in U.S. District Court, with
the petition filed as one of the exhibits of the case he intents to initiate.

Bryant earlier this year filed a similar lawsuit against the governor of
Virginia, calling for the state's highest official to investigate alien
visitations and protect the residents of his state.
