(see below) However germane to this list is the fact that 12 million copies of the #1 Best Seller have been given away on CD-ROM this week. I don't know if that is a record or anything, but I would think it would be. I know that the sale of the New International Version of the Bible brings in a major chunk of Zondervan's revenue. Flooding the market with 12 million copies seems to be a pretty bold decision. I think it was either Eric Eldred or Michael Hart (I can't remember which) has said that giving away free digital copies of books would actually help print sales, instead of hurt them. Most publishers are afraid to test that hypothesis.
