What would be nice is if there were some way to pay the royalties
directly to the artist/designer/creator of whatever product is being
traded, rather than have most of the price go to the big corporations.
One thing you can do: if you have a favorite singer, and that singer
has a favorite charity, then for every bootleg CD you acquire, every
MP3 you download, every copy you make from someone else's CD, kick in a
contribution to the singer's charity. If you're like me & have a large
collection of such, make payments as the money allows. I'm not paid in
full, yet, but starting is half of finishing. I would rather give it to
charity than to the corporate parasites out there.
