Doesn't surprise me. It's undoubtedly all the California Republicans who
moved to Colorado after they made California unworkable with Proposition
13...

Makes me think of the guy a friend of mine told me about (he swears this is
a true story) who moved into a new house on the edge of a forest. The guy
ate mostly fast food, on the run in his car, and never thought to throw away
the wrappers. So he parked his car one night, didn't lock it, and the next
day he came out to discover that a black bear had gotten in, attracted by
the smell of the food wrappers, candy bars, and soft-drink cans. Well, that
was bad enough, but...the bear had managed to slam the door shut after
himself and lock himself in. And several hours passed, and the bear chewed
up the upholstery, the dashboard, the steering wheel...and after a while,
well, the bear did what bears normally do in the woods. A lot of it. All
over the place. So the guy freaks out, calls the sheriff. The sheriff
arrives with a pole he uses for cases of bears stuck in cars. He opens the
car door, the bear makes a, er, bearline for home, and the sheriff gets
ready to go. Then the guy says, "But what are you going to do about my
car?" The sheriff points out that *his* responsibility ended when the bear
took off. What's the guy going to do, sue the bear? The interesting thing
is that he stilll has to get to work that morning...and the car still
runs... (BTW, according to an insurance claims rep we asked, the, ah, bear
damage probably *would* be covered by the guy's auto
insurance...unfortunately.)
