This was the conundrum they had in Ancient Greece. If you don't pay some salary to
senators, then only the wealthy can afford to hold the office. Believe me, if the
Illuminati Hierachy bothers to hold a seat on Congress it's for purely tactical or
social reasons, not for the (relatively) tiny pay they receive (by their standards
anyway).
