Framing the Patsy

Chapter 3

In a normal environment under normal conditions, the claim that J. Edgar
Hoover is ultimately responsible for framing Lee Harvey Oswald sounds like a
bizarre conspiratorial fantasy. But in the hysteria-driven Cold War
environment that motivated J. Edgar Hoover, the fact that Oswald was "just a
patsy" is not subject to serious dispute. An expert at perverting the law,
Hoover survived the horrendous abuse of power he routinely practised through
the enforcement of a Mafia-like code of silence. Indeed, the degree of
secrecy that he ruthlessly enforced was so extreme, that sheer luck is
ultimately responsible for exposing the illegalities that Hoover routinely
promoted. In 1971 for example, it was not an unusual lapse in security but
the burglary of an FBI office in Pennsylvania, that exposed the otherwise
unrecorded fifteen year stretch of FBI sponsored fraud. The substance of the
illegal, covert operations, routinely discharged between 1956 and 1971,
involved fraud, forgery and disinformation campaigns, but the so-called
counterintelligence operations (Cointeipro) were fiercely shrouded in such
extreme secrecy that the public was never even aware of their existence prior
to the 1971 burglary. The illegal operations ultimately reflect the fact that
Hoover's FBI practised an unabashed pattern of fraud and forgery and
routinely managed to get away with it. The astounding scope of undetected
corruption clearly reflects Hoover's extraordinary capacity to pervert the
American legal system. The unchallengeable autocrat had in fact trained his
FBI to discredit his enemies through "disruptive-disinformation operations"
and to use Police Department or FBI stationery to subtly distort documentary
evidence or to create "entirely fabricated documents".1 In the final
analysis, the 1971 burglary exposed the "split personality" of the FBI -on
the one hand, it had the resources and the capacity to solve crime and on the
other, it practised the art of deceit. The initial Kennedy assassination
investigation [the Warren Report], dominated entirely by Hoover's capacity to
promote fraud, reflects absolutely nothing beyond the art of deceit.

It is simply not possible to be a reasonable person and to accept Hoover's
fraudulent assertion that Lee Harvey Oswald is singlehandedly responsible for
the Kennedy assassination. The evidence is too abundant and too consistent,
to ignore the fact that the case against Lee Harvey Oswald is obviously
fraudulent and reflects absolutely nothing beyond a Hoover-directed
disinformation campaign. Even pure common sense dictates that the Warren
Report ultimately implicates J. Edgar Hoover in the Kennedy assassination
cover up. Clearly, if we stretch the imagination to the point where we accept
the Warren Report claim that Oswald is responsible for the Kennedy
assassination, then why did Hoover let it happen? Recall that Hoover claimed
that Oswald was a known Communist subversive, and given his alleged status,
J. Edgar Hoover would have invariably positioned himself to monitor every
move, every phone call, and every letter that Lee Harvey Oswald received. The
surveillance imposed on alleged subversives like Lee Harvey Oswald was too
comprehensive to grant them the opportunity to murder the President of the
United States.

Like the fabricated disinformation campaigns that Hoover routinely promoted,
the phoney "mail-order" case that fraudulently implicates Lee Harvey Oswald,
is absolutely disingenuous. Clearly, if Lee Harvey Oswald, a genuine
Communist sympathiser had tried to shoot Kennedy, then J.Edgar Hoover, who
boasted the claim that "there is an FBI agent behind every mailbox", would
have had his men storm the Texas School Book Depository and would have
thwarted the so-called Communist plot to undermine America's national
security.2 Indeed, J. Edgar Hoover had declared war on Communism, and loyal
FBI agents did little beyond track and discredit anyone who was perceived to
be Communist inclined. Monitored around the clock by Hoover's army of loyal
FBI agents, genuine Communist sympathizers were simply targets of covert,
illegal plots, they were not "mail-order" assassins.

Under the circumstances, Hoover's pompous claim that the case against Oswald
was air-tight, reflects little beyond the deliberate fraud that he ultimately
controlled. The absurd assertion that Communist sympathiser Lee Harvey Oswald
used a cheap mail-order rifle to singlehandedly fire a rapid, crossfire
succession of deadly accurate shots, merits ridicule. Beyond the simple fact
that it is physically impossible for a single man to fire the same gun almost
simultaneously, from two separate directions, it is also not possible for Lee
Harvey Oswald, the "magic bullet" sharpshooter, to posthumously cover up the
Kennedy assassination conspiracy. Clearly, that was the task that Lyndon
Johnson, J.Edgar Hoover, Dean Rusk and a slew of their cohorts, obsessively
managed. In retrospect, nothing is more transparently fraudulent than the
so-called air-tight case that implicates Oswald. Even Warren Commission
members who rubber-stamped the case against Lee Harvey Oswald, doubted the
legitimacy of the Kennedy assassination "investigation" that Hoover
controlled. According to Warren Commissioner, Congressman Hale Boggs, "Hoover
lied his eyes out to the Commission-on Oswald, on Ruby, on their friends...
you name it."3 According to Warren Commissioner, Senator Russell, "We have
not been told the truth about Oswald."4 In retrospect, the truth behind all
those deliberate lies, is crystal clear. J. Edgar Hoover used the Warren
Report, not for the purpose of investigating the facts that surrounded
Kennedy's assassination but to frame Lee Harvey Oswald and to suppress
evidence which disputed his guilt. Clearly, evidence of Hoover's commitment
to frame Oswald is abundant enough to occupy volumes of work and an entire
lifetime of research. First and foremost, Hoover did not demonstrate a single
genuine interest in conducting a thorough investigation to determine the
truth about the Kennedy assassination. Instead of investigating the dozens of
suspects gathered by the Dallas Police on the day of the assassination,
Hoover simply sought to discredit Lee Harvey Oswald in order to convince the
public that he and he alone had assassinated the President. Beyond
fraudulently seeking to declare Oswald's guilt, genuine evidence which
suggested otherwise was distorted, unjustifiably discredited, destroyed or
"explained away". The suppression of genuine evidence was in fact so fierce
that the very life of anyone who was in a position to challenge the case
against Oswald or to expose the truth about the Kennedy assassination, was
seriously jeopardized.

Dorothy Kilgallen, for example, a resourceful reporter who ridiculed Warren
Report conclusions at a time when the media had generally accepted them, was
murdered in November of 1965. On March 20, 1964, Dorothy wrote: "The point to
be remembered in this historic case is that the whole truth has not been
told. Neither the State of Texas nor the defense put all of its evidence
before the jury. Perhaps it was not necessary, but it would have been
desirable from the viewpoint of all the American people."5 Dorothy correctly
called the Warren Report "laughable" at a time when most reporters were
willing to accept it, and instead of demonstrating the general willingness to
embrace what has proven to be a fraud, she was determined "to break the real"
story and have the biggest scoop of the century."6 Tragically, as a cover up
victim, Dorothy became a part of the biggest scoop of the century. Jim
Garrison was Dorothy Kilgallen's New Orleans contact prior to her death, and
that, as it will latter become clear, establishes a definite link between the
Warren Report fraud and the murder of Dorothy Kilgallen.

Gerald Posner, author of Case Closed, a book that zealously promotes the
ludicrous "magic bullet theory", ridicules the claim that Kilgallen's death
was linked to the assassination of John F. Kennedy and suggests that
Kilgallen was nothing but a loser who drank herself to death. Posner's
delusions are prompted by the absurd premise that advanced computer
technology has the power to resurrect the fraudulent Warren Commission.
Despite Posner's appeal to technology, his only genuine contribution is to
libel the memories of dedicated human beings like Dorothy Kilgallen, a
reporter who struggled to determine the truth while the Hoover-controlled
Warren Report dictated a hoax about the Kennedy assassination. The simple
fact of the matter is that computers cannot duplicate the human capacity to
think independently. Perhaps Posner, overwhelmed by the vast amount of
material which relates to the Kennedy assassination, thinks that he can
selectively punch in data and pump out a valid conclusion about the Kennedy
assassination. It is a serious delusion which merits serious ridicule. To be
sure, while computers are vastly superior when it comes to the storage of
data, they are absolutely useless when it comes down to sophisticated
analysis. Nothing has changed since John F. Kennedy claimed hope upon the
fact that human beings are equipped with "the most extraordinary computer of
all" and fraud artists who use sophisticated technology to overwhelm an
unsuspecting public do not, by any stretch of the imagination, command the
slightest iota of credibility. And so, the limit of Posner's "scientific"
inquiry is very clear: He can pervert the legitimacy of so-called scientific
evidence through controlled experiments that advance pre-conceived
conclusions like the "magic-bullet" theory, he cannot prove that Lee Harvey
Oswald is responsible for the assassination of John F. Kennedy. It is
possible to reproduce any number of manipulative, controlled scientific
experiments that are deliberately set up to advance a prescribed conclusion.
It is not possible to credibly defend the Warren Report.

Posner's shameless determination to promote a fraud is boundless. On November
17, 1993, he appeared on Frontline where he pompously disputed the well known
fact that alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald and potential Kennedy
assassination co-conspirator David Ferrie had known each other in 1955 since
they were both members of the Civil Air Patrol in New Orleans. "No they were
not", Posner insisted. "I have discovered documents which prove that Ferrie
had been suspended in 1955!" At the same time, Frontline published a
photograph which proved that Oswald and Ferrie were indeed both members of
the Civil Air Patrol in New Orleans, at the time that Ferrie was allegedly
suspended.7 Given his absolute determination to dispute the obvious, Posner
is evidently a "hired gun" who is fraudulently trying to revive the
lone-gunman theory in order to maintain the Kennedy assassination cover up.
Perhaps, if Posner exposes all the secret sponsors who are prompting him to
keep the cover up alive, we will better appreciate his motives. Until then,
the only way to pinpoint the genuine motivation behind Posner's work is to
explore the consequences of his fraudulent portrayal of the Kennedy
assassination. In a nutshell, Posner dominated the Kennedy assassination
controversy, not because he sought to expose the truth, but because he
satisfied the obsession to cover it up. Making timely appearances on the 30th
anniversary of the President's death, the media made Posner a star "witness"
of the Kennedy assassination, and unless the media is simply a vehicle which
advances serious delusions, one has to assume that Posner had a great deal of
help in becoming an overnight "celebrity" who commanded a national audience.

While Posner-like agents of fraud commanded a national audience, genuine
witnesses who promoted the truth about the Kennedy assassination were
harassed, intimidated and manipulated to the point of exhaustion. The
frustration of Kennedy assassination eyewitness Jean Hill, reflects the
pattern of harassment and intimidation that assaulted the truth. Jean Hill
was so close to the President when he was shot that she saw gunfire
"literally blow his head away". Calling the Warren Report an absolute fraud
and an outright lie, Hill's version of the truth disturbed the official fraud
to the point where she was followed everywhere, her phone was tapped and her
mail was opened. In particular, Jean Hill disturbed the official version of
truth because she heard between 4-6 shots fired, and unlike the Warren Report
fraud that records only three, an objective accounting records at least four
identifiable shots, three that produced wounds and one that hit the curbside.
Independent intelligence analysts like Harold Weisberg have conclusively
proven the fact of a cover up which relates to the Kennedy assassination
bullet [conveniently ignored by Hoover] that damaged the curbside and was
mysteriously patched up, to make it appear as though it did not even exist.
Genuine evidence, like genuine witnesses, tended to disappear. Those who
could be controlled, were harassed and ultimately silenced. Jean Hill
particularly disturbed the hoax that Hoover promoted because she claimed that
she saw a man flee from the area of the grassy knoll. The FBI did not like
what she told them about the Kennedy assassination and they did their utmost
to muzzle her in order to create the impression that the fraudulent Warren
Report was credible. The effort to maintain testimony that matched the
fraudulent Warren Report demanded a massive onslaught upon the truth, and
eyewitnesses like Jean Hill were obsessively monitored, to contain their
influence. In the end, the stress of having Hoover's FBI repeatedly dispute
her testimony took it's toll, and a frustrated Jean Hill blurted: "For two
years I have told the truth, but I have two children to support and I am a
public school teacher. My principal said it would be best not to talk about
the assassination, and I just can't go through it all again. I can't believe
the Warren Report. I know it's all a lie, because I was there when it
happened, but I can't talk about it anymore because I don't want the FBI here
constantly and I want to continue to teach here. I hope you don't think I'm a
coward but I cannot talk about the case anymore."8 Sometimes fierce,
sometimes subtle, always relentless, the determination to control evidence
which explored the possible source of gunfire was absolutely pervasive. To
cite a subtle example, the contrast between the testimony of Secret
Serviceman Roy Kellerman and the FBI translation, reflects the common,
unswerving effort to substantiate fraudulent, Warren Report conclusions.
According to the testimony of eyewitness Kellerman, who was sitting on the
right passenger seat of the presidential limousine:

As we turned off Houston onto Elm and made the short little dip to the left
going down grade, as I said, we were away from buildings, and were-there was
a sign on the side of the road which I don't recall what it was or what it
said, but we no more than passed that and you are out in the open, and there
is a report like a firecracker, pop. And I turned my head to the right
because whatever this noise was I was sure that it came from the right and
perhaps into the rear, and as I turned my head to the right to view whatever
it was or see whatever it was, I heard a voice from the back seat and I
firmly believe it was the President's, 'My God I am hit,' and I turned around
and he has got his hands up here like this."9

Kellerman's description does not preclude the possibility that a position
behind the stockade fence at the top of the grassy knoll, was the source of
the shot that caused Kennedy to grasp for his throat. According to the FBI
translation, Kellerman: "heard a shot and immediately turned around looking
past Governor Connally who was seated directly in back of him to the
President."10 Clearly the immediate focus of Kellerman's attention was "to
the right" not "directly in back" and while it is arguably a minor
distortion, it is an absolutely consistent one, and that dictates the
difference between a casual oversight and a deliberate fraud. Hoover's FBI
repeatedly and unfailingly ignored, distorted, manipulated or destroyed
evidence which pointed to the likelihood that at least one shot was fired
from a direction "to the right" of the motorcade and in the final, ironic
analysis, the zealous effort to dispute the claim that the grassy knoll was a
source of gunfire, strongly suggests that it in fact was. As expected,
eyewitnesses like Lyndon Johnson developed amnesia and did not offer any clue
about the source of gunfire because they were preoccupied by the obsession to
cover up the truth. According to Lyndon Johnson: "I was startled by the sharp
report or explosion, but I had no time to speculate as to its origin because
Agent Youngblood turned in a flash, immediately after the first explosion,
hitting me on the shoulder, and shouted to all of us in the back seat to get
down".11 The excuse -Johnson did not have time to speculate, is absurd. Even
agent Youngblood himself, was forthcoming enough to provide credible
commentary. According to Youngblood: "I quickly observed unnatural movement
of crowds, like ducking or scattering and quick movements in the Presidential
follow-up car."12 Johnson embellished his excuses before Earl Warren, to whom
he wrote that he did not get the opportunity to record his impressions ''in
the difficult and critical days following the assassination of President
Kennedy".13 But other eyewitnesses like Dave Powers, who was clearly shaken
and deeply disturbed by the assassination of his friend, the President, did
not develop the same sort of "amnesia" that guilty parties evoke to refrain
from incriminating themselves. According to Powers: "I noticed that the
President moved quite far to his left after the shot from the extreme right
hand side where he had been sitting".14 Cooperative motorcade eyewitnesses
were specific enough to pinpoint sources of gunfire. According to Secret
Service agent Paul Landis: "I heard what sounded like the report of a
high-powered rifle from behind me. I heard a second report and saw the
President's head split open and pieces of flesh and blood flying through the
air. My reaction at this time was that the shot came from somewhere toward
the front... and looked along the right-hand side of the road."15
Eyewitnesses like Landis, confirmed the claim that if shots were indeed fired
from the Texas School Book Depository, it certainly was not the only source
of gunfire. Eyewitnesses like Gordon Arnold, who was standing a few feet in
front of the stockade fence at the top of the grassy knoll when shots whizzed
by, clearly disputes the claim that the TSBD was the exclusive source of
gunfire. Having recently spent time on the army infiltration course where he
had been required to crawl along the ground with bullets whizzing inches
above his head, Arnold was in a position to know what he was talking about.
According to Arnold: "You don't really hear the whiz of a bullet; you feel
it. You feel something go by, and then you hear a report just behind it. I
automatically hit the ground. If I could have dug a hole and crawled in, I
would have, because there was more than one shot fired. It was like a crack,
just like I was standing there under the muzzle. One shot went past my ear,
and the other went over me."16 Senator Ralph Yarborough, who saw Arnold duck
at what was presumed to be the first shot, said, "He [Arnold] was down within
a second of the time the shot was fired, and I thought to myself, 'There's a
combat veteran who knows how to act when weapons start firing.'"17 When
Kennedy was assassinated, known eyewitnesses who claimed that the grassy
knoll was a source of gunfire were immediately rounded up and taken to a
nearby courthouse where they were interrogated [Garrison-style] by men who
claimed to be government agents. The evident purpose of the "government
agents" or hired thugs who surrounded Dealy Plaza was to suppress the truth
-most eyewitnesses who indicated that the grassy knoll was a source of
gunfire were not even called to testify before the Warren Commission. The
omission is not excusable. Evidence provided by eyewitness accounts,
photographs and films which record the spontaneous charge of citizens and
policemen who abandoned motorcycles and stormed towards the grassy knoll to
investigate the evident source of gunfire cannot be ignored. Scores of
eyewitnesses substantiate the claim that the grassy knoll was at least one of
the sources of gunfire, and unlike the fraudulent official version, grassy
knoll evidence has never been discredited. Even the Doctors and Nurses who
examined Kennedy immediately after he was shot, dispute the absurd claim that
the source of gunfire was exclusively from the rear or the direction of the
TSBD. On November 22, 1963, Dr. Perry told the press that "there was an
entrance wound below the Adam's apple."18 According to Doctor Shaw, who was
understandably perplexed by the fraudulent proposition that Oswald alone was
responsible for the assassination of Kennedy, "the assassin was behind him,
yet the bullet entered at the front of his neck."19 The Texas-based Doctors
and Nurses who examined Kennedy were experts at identifying bullet wounds and
the testimony they provided was very definite. According to Dr. Jones; "the
hole was very small and relatively clean cut as you would see in a bullet
that is entering rather than exiting from a patient."20 When Dr. Perry, who
had observed an entrance wound in the throat, testified before the Warren
Commission, he was asked to take certain unproven facts for granted and to
respond accordingly. This fraudulent manipulation of the evidence, which was
essentially carbon-copied by Posner who, in Case Closed used computer
technology [instead of leading questions] to promote a pre-conceived
conclusion, reflects the zeal to cover up the truth about the Kennedy
assassination. The independent observations that the Doctors had made on the
day of the assassination, are still the most unchallengeable assertions about
Kennedy's bullet wounds. To be sure, if one is forced to accept the
fraudulent claim that Oswald, positioned above and behind the motorcade, was
the sole assassin, then one must also accept the claim that the grassy knoll
was not a source of gunfire. When Doctor Perry testified before the Warren
Commission and said, "... with the facts which you have made available and
with these assumptions, I believe that it was an exit wound" he was
responding to a loaded question, he was not describing his observations.21
Doctor Perry's unobstructed observations are very clear; he observed an entry
wound; and that conclusively disputes the claim that Oswald pulled the
trigger that hit Kennedy in the throat. The so-called "magic" bullet which
was allegedly fired from the TSBD was in pristine condition and medical
experts repeatedly proved that it could not have possibly inflicted the
wounds it allegedly caused. Indeed, more grains of metal were recovered from
Governor Connally's wrist wound alone than were missing from the "magic
bullet" or Warren Commission exhibit 399. As Dr. Robert Shaw, Connally's
surgeon has publicly indicated: "I am sure that the bullet that inflicted
these wounds on Governor Connally was fragmented much more than this bullet
shows."22 Medical and ballistic evidence conclusively disputes the "magic
bullet" fraud and ultimately proves that the only purpose of Commission
exhibit 399 was to fraudulently blame Lee Harvey Oswald for the assassination
of John F. Kennedy. Clearly, the inconsistency between the pristine bullet
and the damage it allegedly inflicted is absolutely irreconcilable unless the
simple fact that the "magic bullet" was deliberately planted to set Oswald
up, is acknowledged. Indeed, Daryl Tomlinson, the Parkland hospital employee
who found the "magic bullet" indicated that the stretcher from which it was
discovered was not even related to the Kennedy assassination case -the
culprit who hastily planted it was obviously preoccupied by the need to evade
detection. Moreover, as Harold Weisberg, the foremost Kennedy assassination
researcher has indicated, both the FBI and the Secret Service privately
chuckled over the purported path that the "magic bullet" travelled and
concurred to the theory that "the first shot hit President Kennedy and nobody
else. The second shot hit Governor Connally and nobody else. And that the
third bullet hit President Kennedy and nobody else." 23

The Warren Commission was easy to manipulate because it was essentially
provided with no other alternative other than to examine the "evidence" that
J. Edgar Hoover made available. Individual FBI agents did not cooperate with
the Warren Commission staff, without "express orders" from Hoover.24 Direct
access to FBI agents was strictly forbidden and any agent who violated the
strict control that Hoover imposed was severely disciplined. Strict
directives frustrated an independent probe and reduced the investigative
capacity of the Warren Commission to the point where it merely echoed
Hoover's fraudulent declarations. The effort to secure independent
information about the Kennedy assassination was always denied because every
inquiry was filtered through channels that gave Hoover the opportunity to
monitor every single scrap of evidence. "For example, Joseph Ball said that
on his first trip to Dallas he called the FBI field office for assistance in
a problem. He was told that the request must come from FBI headquarters in
Washington. It was thus necessary for Ball to telephone Howard Willens in
Washington, who then prepared a formal request which was, in turn, signed by
Lee Rankin and forwarded to J. Edgar Hoover."25 Having successfully thwarted
every avenue of independence, Hoover dictated what has proven to be the most
obvious fraud ever promoted, -the absolutely ludicrous assertion that Lee
Harvey Oswald singlehandedly assassinated John F. Kennedy.

Hoover's investigative hoax produced 25,000 FBI reports, but according to the
estimate of a Warren Commission staff lawyer, 90% of the reports were not
immediately relevant to the assassination.26 Hoover simply insisted that Lee
Harvey Oswald was solely responsible for the assassination, and relevancy was
consequently restricted to a narration about anything which related to Lee
Harvey Oswald. According to Liebeler, a lawyer who worked for the Commission,
the case against Oswald "read like a brief for the prosecution."27 In
retrospect, that is not at all surprising. The Warren Commission did not
investigate the facts which surrounded the Kennedy assassination. It simply
recorded the Lee Harvey Oswald profile that J. Edgar Hoover made available
and as every fair-minded jurist knows, an overzealous, fraudulent prosecution
reflects the perversion rather than the attainment of justice. Oswald was
accused, murdered, tried and convicted, in order to deny an impartial
examination of the relevant facts that surrounded the assassination of John
F. Kennedy. And in the final, ugly accounting, Lyndon Johnson and J. Edgar
Hoover are directly responsible for framing Lee Harvey Oswald.

In retrospect, it is absolutely impossible to absolve J. Edgar Hoover of the
responsibility. Indeed, Hoover's huge propaganda machine even controlled the
unchallenged, evidently fraudulent assertion that Oswald was a pro-Castro
"nut". In a normal investigation, the Warren Commission would have
investigated the many leads which suggested that Oswald's pro-Castro image
was phoney. But when Warren Commission counsel, Lee Rankin, requested
information about pro-Castro and anti-Castro groups:

FBI Director Hoover responded to this request on June 11, 1964. Enclosed with
his letter were 15 reports on named individuals and 46 memoranda on
identified organizations. All 46 memoranda were prepared by FBI field offices
in various cities and all were dated after May 20, 1964. In other words, it
appears that FBI Headquarters simply directed its field offices in identified
cities to prepare the responses.28

Instead of investigating serious leads which related to the Kennedy
assassination, Hoover simply "prepared responses" that conformed to the
fraudulent assertion that Oswald was singlehandedly responsible for the
Kennedy assassination. Fraudulent assertions aside, Lee Harvey Oswald was
obviously an American spy who was set up to take the blame for the
assassination of John F. Kennedy. The assertion that Lee Harvey Oswald was
not an American spy is clearly nothing beyond a deliberate, Cold War lie. The
Cold War produced a culture of lying, and to cite a single, well known
example, the fraudulent cover story that President Eisenhower advanced to
protect the covert mission of U-2 spy pilot Dave Powers, illustrates the
common tendency to deceive. Gary Powers was assumed dead after being shot
down by the Soviets, and the assumption that a fraudulent cover story would
deceive the world was suddenly proven wrong when Eisenhower learned that
Powers had been captured alive and that Khrushchev was able to provide evidenc
e that he was in fact an American spy. When Lee Harvey Oswald was captured
alive, Lyndon Johnson was overwhelmed by the sort of anxiety and obsession
that was evoked by a living Dave Powers. Indeed, Lyndon Johnson had evidently
panicked to the point where he personally called the hospital after Ruby had
shot Oswald, to find out whether he was still alive. A living Oswald
threatened to challenge the cover story that he was a violent, deranged,
Communist subversive, and that was evidently a thought that terrified Lyndon
Johnson. It certainly terrified Dr, Charles A Crenshaw, the Dallas surgeon
who fought to save the lives of both Kennedy and Oswald and had to contend
with sinister looking pistol-packing thugs in the process. Crenshaw's entire
book, JFK: Conspiracy of Silence, is startling, and exposes the fact that as
Oswald lay dying, Johnson frantically called the hospital, and after the
thundering inquiry, "how is the accused assassin?", the President of the
United States demanded "a deathbed confession from the accused assassin" and
indicated that "there's a man in the operating room [one of the
pistol-packing thugs?] who will take the statement."29 Evidence of panic does
not come any clearer than that.

In 1959, Lee Harvey Oswald travelled to Moscow, renounced his U.S.
citizenship and declared his intention to sell America's defense secrets to
the Russians. In 1962, Oswald returned to the United States with a new
Russian wife and settled in Fort Worth Texas. The fact that Oswald was a
phoney defector [a spy] was ultimately betrayed when, instead of facing
espionage charges, Oswald was welcomed back to the United States in 1962.
Indeed, a marine like Oswald was certainly in a position to betray American
secrets, and alleged traitors did not survive serious reprimand. At the age
of nineteen, Oswald was given a security clearance of "confidential" and was
subsequently assigned to the naval station at Atsugi, Japan, one of the bases
from which the CIA launched secret reconnaissance flights over Russia. As a
radar operator, Oswald actually tracked U-2 spy planes as they took off and
returned, and that was certainly a confidence that was not shared with America
ns of questionable loyalty. Indeed, if Oswald's loyalty was ever questioned,
it is because his espionage training [learning the Russian language...] left
him vulnerable to being taunted by acquaintances who were deliberately left
in the dark because the levels of security clearance that the Cold War had
produced, precluded common disclosure.

In the light of all the facts, Lee Harvey Oswald was obviously a phoney
defector who pretended to betray America at the behest of American
intelligence. Clearly, despite every effort to deceive, the agenda of young,
patriotic marines with Oswald's security clearance is astoundingly
transparent. According to an out of character letter that was obviously
written to feign Communist loyalty, Oswald wrote: "In the event of war I
would kill any American, who put on a uniform in defense of the United States
of America". In actual fact, there is no reliable evidence to indicate that
Oswald was a violent lunatic. According to a reliable fellow marine, Nelson
Delgato, Oswald was a very quiet, intellectual young man who listened to
classical music and played chess. Indeed, Lee Harvey Oswald, the intelligent,
high school drop out who joined the marines in 1956 when he was only
seventeen years old, was a sane and loyal, self-styled [aspiring James Bond]
Cold Warrior, he was not a violent, anti-American fanatic.

The Cold War claimed thousands of American lives and in that respect, the
mysterious life and death of Lee Harvey Oswald was typical. Indeed, on March
4, 1993, a single Prime Time Live news report disclosed the fact that
hundreds of American airmen who flew secret missions over the Soviet Union
were either killed when they were shot down, or they were tortured and
subsequently "eliminated" after being captured alive by the Soviets. The
genuine cause of death of every single victim, supplied with a cover story to
keep the truth buried, was deliberately obscured through fabricated lies.
Such "secret warriors" whether they were fake defectors like Lee Harvey
Oswald or pilots who spied on the Soviet Union, were ideal "patsies" because
genuine detail which related to their lives and to their deaths was obscured
through the manufactured cover stories that concealed espionage involvement.

In the final analysis, the most reliable, biographical fact about Lee Harvey
Oswald is that he was a Cold War pawn who was consistently used and
manipulated by American intelligence spooks. And if routine deception makes
it difficult if not impossible to compile a reliable record, the following
facts are indisputable: he was "just a patsy", he did not singlehandedly
murder President Kennedy, and he cannot possibly be responsible for the
massive cover up that followed Kennedy's assassination.

Regardless, it is very easy to insist that Oswald in fact murdered President
Kennedy because the physical "evidence" was very neatly manufactured to
implicate Lee Harvey Oswald. Three spent cartridges, conveniently left behind
on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository correspond exactly
with the Warren Report claim that three shot were fired. A rifle, the
so-called murder weapon was also recovered from the sixth floor and that was
conveniently linked to the "magic" bullet that was mysteriously recovered
from Parkland Hospital. The "ballistically correct" bullet matched the
so-called murder weapon, and as long as the "convenient" linkage is not
carefully scrutinized, the claim that Oswald is in fact guilty appears to be
conclusive.

But the ballistically correct, "magic" bullet was obviously planted and even
the so-called assassination rifle was evidently in the hands of the
intelligence spooks that manipulated Oswald. Appearing on Hard Copy, on
October 5, 1992, former CIA operative Robert Murrow claimed that he was
responsible for purchasing the so-called "sniper's den" rifle that linked
Oswald to the Kennedy assassination. Murrow passed the rifle on to fellow CIA
operative David Ferrie, the bizarre intelligence spook who had cultivated a
secret relationship with Oswald and had taken great pains to conceal the fact
that his involvement with Oswald was active up until the day Oswald was
arrested for murdering the President of the United States. Murrow passed the
rifle on to Ferrie because he was led to believe that it was going to be used
in a South American assassination plot. Ferrie used it to set Oswald up.
David Ferrie had solid links to the people who are ultimately responsible for
framing Oswald. Working closely with Guy Banister, Hoover's unaccountable
link to anti-Castro plots, and Carlos Marcello, the Mafia Boss with links to
American intelligence zealots, Ferrie was indeed a key ally in the network
that framed Oswald. Cover story aside, Lee Harvey Oswald, the young,
intelligent aspiring James Bond, "defected to the Soviet Union at a time when
branches of the American military, particularly the office of Naval
Intelligence, habitually placed false defectors in the Soviet Union." And
true to the charade that Oswald promoted when he denounced the American way
of life, false defectors were instructed "to appear disenchanted, poor,
American youths who had been turned off and wanted to see what communism was
all about."30

The implications of the evident fact that Oswald was a phoney defector are
astounding because they link him to McNamara's Pentagon and to Rusk's State
Department. Pentagon officials, whose secrets Oswald allegedly betrayed, were
invariably aware of the "special assignments" which linked Oswald to American
intelligence rather than to Communist subversives. Not surprisingly, the
Pentagon destroyed Oswald's military file. State Department officials were
also very clear about who the real Lee Harvey Oswald was. On June 24, 1963,
when Oswald applied for a new American passport to travel to Cuba, his
application was instantly wired and processed within twenty-four hours. That
is what you call Cold War efficiency. Americans who were not on "special
assignment" were certainly denied that sort of access -they were not even
free to travel to a restricted country like Cuba. But Lee Harvey Oswald, who
was evidently a covert operative who engaged the effort to spy on the enemies
of the United States, was free to travel to Cuba.

Perhaps the most dramatic claim about Oswald's evident links to American
intelligence were made by Alonzo Hudkins, a Houston newspaper reporter who
alleged that "Oswald had been working for the FBI as an informant since
September 1962, that Oswald was on the FBI payroll at $200 a month on the day
he was arrested; and that Oswald had been assigned an informant number, 179."3
1 The only challenge to Alonzo's detailed allegations was an unsubstantiated
FBI denial. Moreover, when one considers the fact that even Jack Ruby had
been an FBI informant, why wouldn't a loyal, enthusiastic, covert,
anti-Communist operative like Lee Harvey Oswald, share intelligence with the
FBI? J. Edgar Hoover, who evidently cultivated every single available
intelligence source, was certainly not prepared to ignore Oswald. Indeed,
according to a secret memo, dated June 3, 1960, that carries Hoover's
signature, the Director of the FBI wrote: "There is a possibility that an
imposter is using Oswald's birth certificate."32 J. Edgar Hoover, who
maintained an interest in the secret life of Lee Harvey Oswald at the very
same time that Oswald was spying on the Soviet Union at the behest of
American intelligence, was ideally suited to the task of exploiting the
secret life of Lee Harvey Oswald.
