WHY CANADA IS WORTH SAVING

CANADA ACTION PARTY (www.canadianactionparty.ca)

Introduction: The Canadian Action Party of Canada is releasing the Winning
Essay Contest winners. I have "announced" other actions by these "patriots"
of Canada who are actually fighting the same issues in Canada that we are
fighting here in the United States - globalization by the UN, NWO, WTO, MAI,
and the results of the NAFTA/GATT agreements. I commend them for this Essay
Contest. The details are listed on their web page (see above) Patriots in
the United States have been asked the question, "Would Americans stand up
with Canadians who want to preserve and protect their Sovereignty?" YES, I
think they would. YES, Americans are getting angrier and angrier at the
actions of our so-called representatives and senators for not protecting
America's sovereignty. Taking POSITIVE ACTION is what is needed here in
America and many groups are doing this -- separately. A coalition effort is
needed. THANKS CONNIE for sharing this wonderful venture with us. We ALL
commend you. PLEASE write Connie Fogal an email message...and share your
thoughts with her, since we most certainly KNOW WHY America is worth saving,
too. It is NOT the American people who are trying to destroy Canadian
freedom, but globalists who have no respect for any nation. Dot Bibee -

More than $120,000 in Prizes Presented

Toronto, ON – "Everyone who participated in this essay contest is a winner,"
said the Hon. Paul Hellyer, Leader of the Canadian ACTION Party (CAP). "All
the entrants have shown how much they care about Canada and that they don’t
want to become Americans. We hope their words will encourage other Canadians
to think seriously about our country’s future." Mr. Hellyer was announcing
the top nine winners of the Canadian ACTION Party "Why Canada Is Worth
Saving" National Essay Contest earlier today. Hundreds of Canadians, ages 12
– 82, submitted 800-word essays after the
contest was launched last March, with a May 15 deadline. Major prizes,
including college and university scholarships, were offered. The contest
winners are:

Prizes will also go to more than 100 runners-up who deserve recognition for
their efforts. Their names will be posted on the CAP website:
www.canadianactionparty.ca. "One thing we learned from our contestants was
how many wonderful things there are to value and preserve in this country,"
said Mr. Hellyer. "Our young contestants were especially articulate in
expressing why they want to grow up Canadian. It would be a great tragedy to
let them down."

The CAP leader thanked the four judges who made the final selection of the
winners:
Doris Anderson, former editor of Chatelaine magazine; Tom Kent, former editor
of the Winnipeg Free Press and later principal policy advisor to Prime
Minister Lester B. Pearson; Roger D. Landry, former publisher of La Presse,
and Dr. Peggy Ross, former Associate Dean of Equity, Faculty of Medicine,
University of British Columbia. Mr. Hellyer also thanked the many volunteers
from coast to coast who handled the initial screening of the essays,
including Marie-Claire Fernandez of Secretariat et Traduction Marie-Claire,
Montreal, who took responsibility for the French entries as a public service.
"All our judges, preliminary and final, contributed a lot of their time and
energy to this contest and we appreciate their hard work immensely," Mr.
Hellyer said. "However, I know from their comments that the job was very
satisfying – they enjoyed reading what other Canadians had to say about the
country they love."

The CAP leader noted that the top 25 – 30 essays will be published in the
near future in the hope that they will encourage continued debate and
discussion on the present threats facing Canada – and why we prefer not to
become the 51st State. Finally, Mr. Hellyer thanked the prize donors,
including: The Last Minute Club, McClelland & Stewart Publishing, Stoddard
Publishing, the Manda Group, Equinox and Harrowsmith Magazines, Records on
Wheels, True North Records, and Jobson & Sons Ltd. "These corporate citizens
helped make our contest possible and we thank them for their support," Mr.
Hellyer stated. "Congratulations to them and all contest participants for
proving that Canada is, indeed, worth saving!"
