By SAUD ABU RAMADAN
RAFAH, Gaza Strip, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Israeli military helicopters
Sunday used anti-tank missiles to attack two Palestinian police
buildings in the southern town Gaza of Rafah, killing two police
officers and wounding 70 civilians.
The Israelis used missiles after Palestinian police officers opened
fire at an Israeli military outlook post on the borders between Gaza
Strip and Egypt during the clashes between hundreds of stones
throwers and Israeli soldiers.
Palestinian medical sources confirmed that two Palestinian police
officers arrived dead at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, and at least 70
civilians and police officers were injured in the missile attack.
Eyewitnesses in Rafah told United Press International that
hundreds of Palestinians broke into the border area between Gaza
and Egypt that is controlled by Israeli army patrols and an outlook
post. They said that hundreds of protesters began to throw stones
at the Israeli soldiers Sunday morning. The soldiers located along
the borders responded by shooting tear gas and rubber bullets.
The clashes continued, and when one of the Palestinian police
officers was shot and injured, his colleagues began to shoot at the
Israeli soldiers, said the eyewitnesses. The Israeli soldiers were
located at the military tower on the borders and the Palestinian
police officers were responding to the fire from the adjacent houses
and also from their bases next to the borders.
The Palestinians said that while both sides were trading fire, two
Israeli military helicopters fired 15 anti-tank missiles at the two
building of the military intelligence. The results, two killed and
dozens injured.

soldiers traded fire, where Palestinians reported that one
Palestinian police officer was killed and more than 60 people
injured.

reported dead in the clashes between Israeli soldiers and
Palestinian police officers and Palestinian demonstrators.

City Inn at the entrance to Ramallah after they forced customers
out and tried to disperse Palestinian police officers and
demonstrators.
Palestinian radio reported that the Israeli soldiers stationed 15
tanks outside the West Bank town of Nablus and were supported
by three military helicopters near the grave of Josef outside Nablus
City.
Palestinians reported that the toll of Palestinians killed Sunday in
the West Bank and Gaza reached to 10 Palestinians, and more
than 300 injured by life ammunition and rubber-coated metal
bullets. They are divided as follow:
2 in Gaza, 5 in Nablus, and 3 in Ramallah; four of them were
Palestinian police officers and two were children.
In the Israeli-Arab town of Omm El Fahem, Palestinian radio
reported that two Israeli-Arabs were shot and killed in the protests
and demonstrations that dominated most of the Israeli Arab towns
and villages in the northern area of Israel.
Hamas leader Isma'eel Abu Shanab called upon the Palestinian
authority to release all Hamas militants and send them to carry out
attacks into Israel as a respond to what he described, "killing
innocent Palestinians in cold blood."
Secretary General of the PA Cabinet accused the Israeli
government that it is "committing massacres against our people in
order to oblige them to accept the political solutions that Israel
wants to impose on the Palestinians."
