Subject: The controversy continues over Jesus being married

Ancient Manuscripts Mailing List - http://www.ancientmanuscripts.com

THE CONTROVERY CONTINUES: JESUS WAS MARRIED

Perhaps the most compelling argument against the fact
that Jesus was married has been the issue of sex becoming the
Original Sin in our day. Certainly if sex were a sin then Jesus
could not have participated. Nowhere in the Old Testament does
God define the Original Sin as the sexual act. In fact before
Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden God told them in
Gen 1: 28 to multiply and replenish the earth. If anything the
act of procreation was a commandment and not a sin. The
Original Sin is defined in Gen 2: 16-17. God told Adam that he
could partake of any fruit of the Garden except the tree of
Knowledge of Good and Evil. Notice that Eve is not present at
this time. She is created as a helpmate for Adam in the next two
verses Gen: 18-19. One can only suspect whether or not Eve
completely understood the commandment if she was not there when
God presented it in the first place. Certainly Adam explained
the idea to her somewhere along the line, but perhaps there
continued to be a difference in understanding between Adam and
Eve on this particular point. It wouldnt have been the first
time in history that man and woman had different ideas about the
same subject.

Now lets look at the punishment attached to the
violation of the partaking of the fruit of the tree. God said in
Gen 1: 17, For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt
surely die. There are two very import types of death implied by
this eating of the fruit. Lets focus on the word Day. When
Eve gave to Adam of the fruit that day they were cast out from
the Garden of Eden. That was a spiritual death of sorts because
it separated Adam from the immediate and continuous presence of
God, which he enjoyed in the Garden of Eden. In the Garden Adam
walked and talked with God. The second issue concerning the word
day is a much broader concept. Physical death was introduced
into the Garden the day Adam partook of the fruit. Enoch in the
book Secrets of Enoch at
http://www.ishopper.com/manuscripts/~RN=5002 was among the first
to suggest that the Day of the Lord was equal to a thousand
mortal years. If that is true then we understand why the oldest
man on record who has ever lived was Methuselah. (Gen 5: 25-26)
He was 969 years old when he died, just short of a day in the
Lords time clearly qualifying, as For the day thou eatest
thereof thou shalt surely die. He died within one day of the
Lords time. Having voluntarily come into the world he
participated in the consequences of Adams partaking of the
fruit. Subsequently the Day of this Life has been confusing for
many who have read the ancient texts. The day of this life
begins at birth but does not end at death. I really extends
until the end of the Final Judgment no so coincidentally at the
end of the thousand years of Millennial Era.

Therefore, the judgment for Original Sin was death.
(Romans 6: 23) Certainly under the broadest interpretations of
the consequences for the fall of Adam we cannot conclude that the
wages of sin are caused by sex. Procreation was a commandment
before Eve arrived on the scene.

Adam and Eve could not procreate in the Garden of Eden.
They didnt even understand their own nakedness until after they
partook of the fruit. (Gen 3: 7-11) Therefore, the sin could not
have been sex. They didnt understand their nakedness until
after they partook. Notice what the Devil said to Eve in order
to entice her to eat of the fruit, (Gen 3: 3-7) Ye ahall not
surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof,
then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as the gods,
knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that it was
pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise,
she took of the fruit thereof and did eat and gave also unto her
husband with her: and he did eat. The serpent was only partially
right. Eve didnt drop over and fall to the ground and return to
the dust when she at the fruit. She did see the world
differently and was able to distinguish good from evil. However,
that act she committed was not a sexual act at all.

The saga of Adam and Eve is much broader than is contained within the
Bible. There are several places where additional information is
available. The first is contained within the Forgotten Books of Eden.

I really enjoyed this one and you will too. Notice what Adam did
to punish Eve for her partaking of the fruit. He made her go and
stand in the river. Perhaps that was the very first baptism ever
performed. Another of the great resources for understanding this
saga is in Philo. http://www.ishopper.com/manuscripts/~RN=19693
There is a very intense discussion of this matter in the three
chapters just following his chapter on creation called The
allegorical interpretations one two and three. How can we
completely understand the Garden of Eden and Original Sin
without this explanation? Then there is a very large old book
called The Old Testament Pseudapegrapha. That will be offered
on my site in the future. Those wanting a copy can call me at
1-888-904-9394. It costs $49.95 plus shipping. Those ordering
other books can have the shipping costs mitigated by calling me.
There are some who have shunned the Pseudapegrapha because it
relies so greatly on oral traditions. Frankly so do the first
four books of the Gospels; Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. We forget
that these books called pseudapegrapha were written in many
different eras of time and stored in places like the great
library of Alexandria. We have very clean copies in our day.
Certainly they rival any history form the period and before.
Those who would ban the Pseudapegrapha from our religious
understanding must not look in the mirror with a Bible in their
hands. That would be hypocrisy at its finest. We are adults.
We can sift through material and with a pinch of inspiration
determine for ourselves what was true and what was stretched too
far. Therefore, when we are speaking of Jesus being married it
is critical to understand that if He were to obey the
commandments of God given to Adam He too would have been required
to be fruitful and replenish the earth. The sixth commandment in
Exodus 20 against committing adultery is not the same as
multiplying and replenishing the earth. Need I explain that one?
The commandments to remain faithful cannot be construed to
suggest that procreation is evil. The harshest of punishments in
the ancient world were reserved for those who killed and for
those who committed adultery. Somehow we let that punishment get
out of hand and imply that all sex was evil. Certainly mortal
death isnt evil either, unless it is accompanied by murder etc.
We cannot suggest that those who marry and keep the commandment
to replenish the earth are following some sinful path originated
by Adam and Eve. Their sin, if sin is the right word, was a
voluntary partaking of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good
and Evil. For this purpose we came into the world. We came here
by choice, whether we think so or not, just like Adam and Eve
made that very same choice. When God announced in that great
council in heaven before the foundations of the earth were laid
that Jesus would come and be the Savior of the world God did not
intend that we be saved from sex. We, the angels in heaven who
attended that great gathering, jumped for joy at the prospect of
mortal life. We knew that none of us could grow without a first
hand understanding of good and evil, the one thing we couldnt
understand in the presence of a God who didnt tolerate evil in
his presence with the least degree of allowance. The one truth
the serpent suggested in the Garden was that knowledge of good
and evil was a Godly requirement. Jesus came here to gain the
same kinds of experiences for which we came. He did a much better
job of it. That had to include a full emersion in the mortal
experience including family.
