Say WHAT? Who the hell said I believe this shit? I wrote ONLY
that this was "INTERESTING." The first two sentences of that
post were my words...everything after that was said by the
Senator, NOT ME. Sorry if I did not make that crystal
clear...I'll be more careful in the future. I think I have
mentioned MANY TIMES here that I post a lot of things I neither
agree with, or like.
Personally, now that I have been accused, and find myself having
to offer some explanation, I have A LOT of problems with this
prayer's content, and context, i.e., crap like this is not
too righteous and/or appropriate ANYWHERE, let alone in the halls
of any governmental body (except maybe inside the halls of the
Vatican's hierarchical crap). If you would like details of my
views in regards to this prayer, read MY veiws as follows
(otherwise disregard the rest of this post):
Unveiled condemnation of others does not qualify as prayer. These
"We have... <insert all sorts of evil things that SOME
individuals may have or may have not done>" so-called prayers are
morally reprehensible when they suggest to the gathered listeners
that they should confess what they have not done. This kind of
thing is emblematic, in fact, of those who are dismally unaware
of the personal nature of prayer. If "we" is ever used in
communal prayer, it is for those things that are universal. The
sins enumerated in the alleged prayer are not universal.
I've seen this particular post elsewhere and found it just as
ridiculous now as I did earlier.
Who the hell is Joe Wright to lay this on all his listeners? In
the Catholic Church (and most others I am aware of) there is a
lot of communal prayer. The Church has a lot of experience with
it and does it right. The author of this so-called prayer is
confessing the very sins that would prevent most religious
denominations from ordaining him to the ministry. How absurd!
