ZNet is currently featuring:

(1) Detailed reporting and contextual analysis of the events
in the Mideast. This is on our top page, and in even more
detail, in our Mideast Watch Section at
http://www.zmag.org/meastwatch/meastwat.htm

(2) Extensive coverage of Pacifica's attack on Democracy Now
and popular efforts to fight back.

This includes Amy Goodman's letter to the Pacifica Board at
http://www.zmag.org/amypacifica.htm

Also Edward Herman's detailed discussion of the events and
context at
http://www.zmag.org/CrisesCurEvts/Pacifica/endgame.htm

And finally ZNet's long-standing Crisis coverage of Pacifica
and the struggles to preserve its integrity...at
http://www.zmag.org/weluser.htm

The ZNet Pacifica Crisis pages include extensive materials
and further links. The battle over Democracy Now and the
future of Pacifica is so important that I will be sending
you a separate message with suggestions on how to impact the
events, later today...

(3) New developments in the Nader Campaign, including new
essays, etc., plus one highly unexpected entry for ZNet.

That is, Time Magazine (of all institutions), on its
campaign page, buried at the bottom beneath their coverage
of only Gore/Bush, has an easy to use polling facility. You
click to vote for Gore, Bush, Buchanon, or Nader. Over a
million people had voted when I checked the results to date
this morning. The results are so overwhelming and so
positive that I placed a graph and tally of them on ZNet
itself, right on our top page. We will update it
periodically so you don't have to navigate Time's pages,
unless of course you want to go there to vote in their poll
(hint hint). you do, however, to get the good news, have to
go to our page -- oh, hell, here it is -- Nader leading in a
landslide with nearly 60% of the total votes cast. Go look
for yourself...

And here, for a little extra content in this message, is a
very clever mailing that I received earlier today. Hey, who
can resist a chain letter like this? So I thought, okay, who
are my friends who I should this to...and so here you have
it.

RALPH NADER CHAIN LETTER
& PYRAMID SCHEME!!!

This is a chain letter for Ralph Nader's presidential
campaign. Results are GUARANTEED!

Unlike most pyramid schemes, this letter won't promise to
make you rich. In fact, if you give money to Ralph Nader's
campaign at
http://www.votenader.org you won't get a penny
of it back. Corporate fat cats donate to both Bush and Gore
because for them it's a profitable investment. Donating to
Nader won't help
you become a gazillionaire-- but it's a non-profit
investment in a better future.

Unlike most chain letters, this one won't threaten you with
bad luck. Nader and the Green Party know how to make their
own good luck: They rented Madison Square Garden on Friday
the 13th and packed the house! The 15,000-person crowd was
the biggest for any presidential candidate this year, and
the New York Times summed it up this way: "The sold-out,
four-hour rally was dubbed 'Nader Rocks the Garden'-- and he
did."

By working together, we can make some more good luck. At
Nader's 10,000-person rally in Seattle, he told the crowd,
"If everyone here tonight would call 40 other people and get
them to vote Green, we'd
carry the state of Washington!" If you're voting for Nader
in November, send this letter to your friends. At the
bottom is a list of reasons why they should do the same.

Unlike most chain letters, this one doesn't end by saying,
"Don't break the chain." We WANT you to break the chains --
of the two-party system! A man in Cincinnati, Ohio, did
nothing when he got this
letter, and for the next 20 years he had only right-wing
Democrats and right-wing Republicans to choose from!

So send this letter to your friends. We can't guarantee it
will make Ralph Nader the next president of the United
States, and it sure as hell won't make you rich. But it
will change some minds. It will
make people think. Results are GUARANTEED!

P.S. This letter is a vegetarian form of mass
communication. It contains no Spam, or other alleged animal
byproducts. It is designed to be sent from friend to
friend, and if you would have preferred not
to receive it we apologize. Please send all complaints
about the two-party system to www.algore.com or
www.georgewbush.com

Here's the top 10 reasons to vote Green Party on November 7:

* National health care: Only Nader is for it.
* The death penalty: Only Nader is against it.
* The Pentagon budget: Only Nader wants to cut it. Only
Nader opposed the Gulf War.
* Campaign finance reform: Only Nader wants to stop
corporate money from strangling our democracy, with full
public financing and free TV time on the public airwaves.
* Affirmative action: Only Nader says, "After more than 300
years of affirmative action to benefit white males, we
definitely need affirmative action for people of color and
women."
  > * The environment: Only Nader will give us action, not
just rhetoric, on solar power and global warming.
* The war on drugs: Only Nader is against it, and says drug
addiction is a medical problem.
* Rules for world trade: Only Nader says they must protect
worker rights and the environment.
* Don't waste your vote on Al Gore! If you live in New York
or Texas or any other state that's already decided, you're
throwing away your vote if you give it to Gore. If you vote
for Nader, you will help the
Green Party get 5% and qualify for federal matching funds in
the next election.
* Don't waste your vote on Al Gore! If you live in a state
where the race is close, remember what Michael Moore says:
"A vote for Gore is a vote for Bush." Vote for what you
really want instead. The time to
start building something new is now.

To get involved, go to www.votenader.org. In New York, call
212-353-3111.
