Basically it's contraception and sterilization programs that we need.
Contrary to the weird myths that "men" are constantly repeating, women do not
like abortion. Apparently the Church does not mind watching deaths from
starvation and disease occur. I have lived in third world countries where
the average family was ten, and the average wage extended to meat once every
month or two. That would be fine if the diet was such as to make up for the
lack, but unfortunately it cannot. I remember one family quite well. It was
a village marriage with two normal children, one physically beautiful but
very retarded, one with a very, very small head, and one who at the age of
five was the size of a normal toddler of about l8 months. The woman wanted
to find a way to be sterilized. In desparation she left her husband, and he
immediately contracted another marriage in the same village, and has since
had many more children. I do not know of their condition. The Church would
deny all people in this world access to family planning. Oh yes, there is
always abstinence, but it was this woman's desire for abstinence that
resulted in the beatings that made her leave her husband. The hideous
poverty that plagues a large portion of the world's citizens gives the
Church's lack of caring for the people suffering the plague of children they
cannot feed, develop or medicate a truly ugly aspect. Prudy
