The son was not an overambitious person or he would have been on a different career track. At the time of the trial, the children were claiming that one of the county supervisors was molesting them. I think that they also claimed to have been molested by a local police chief. And they claimed that they were taken to a local church during the day when the church was open to the public and they took part in satanic rituals inside the church. The longer the investigation/trial went on, the more outlandish the claims became. If there was abuse of children, it was buried under all the outlandish claims and poor investigation and poor case preperation by the DA.
